Who needs an expensive barn when pallets are free

:astonished:French pallets must be built from more substantial boards than in the US.
I’ve stored my hay on pallets for 20+ years & some of them are now ready to become kindling.
The ones in decent shape can hold the weight of my 250# mini, who stands on them to “help” me feed.
But I don’t think I’d trust the boards to hold up to use as stalls in a barn.

I worked retail for a long time. Reusable pallets were made of hardwood, usually a different color (ours were always blue), and never given away.

The type of pallets you’d give away for free were scrap softwood and riddled with nails.

If you click on the original article, the barn existed and is metal, the article calls the stalls “stables” so she built the stalls.

I’ve always heard they don’t hold up. Not sure what pallets she used or where she found them?

Here’s the other article.

I’ve seen people build functional field shelters from pallets.

Someone I know made the cutest little barn for her mini out of pallets.
