Who To Train With in Ocala, Florida?

My daughter is a good-riding amateur from h/j world who will be spending two weeks in Ocala to shop for her next horse and also do a couple of week-long “boot camps” with eventing trainers. She’s interested in refreshing her dressage skills and doing some cross-country. Can anyone recommend a trainer she might contact?

My, now adult, daughter comes down every year for lessons with Denise Rath of Grey Fox Farm. Her facility is lovely and the instruction is great.

All good suggestions so far! Tik and Sinead’s camp is from 12.27-30 and will be at Majestic Oaks. I am planning to go and I AM SO EXCITED!!! I’m not quite ready for it, but will go and soak up as much as I can learn.

I would also add to your list, Jon and Jenn Holling, who are also year round in Ocala and are both excellent instructors with a super nice facility. I’ve ridden with both of them, and always learn a great deal. Jon has a new YouTube channel which has been super informative and would give your daughter an idea into Jon’s traning and riding thoughts.

Lesley and Leslie Law are also in Ocala year round with a good programs and a good facility. Lesley is working with the US under 25s, so that might be something to keep in mind.

Also, Stephanie Cauffman has just moved to her Ocala property. She has been assistant trainer to Jennie Brannagan and is now available to teach and train in Ocala full time.

Additionally, Zach Brandt is teaching and planning several xc schooling days during the week that I’ve seen him post about. I haven’t ridden with him, but I know several people that have and say good things!

Dom and Jimmie Schramm are based at Horsepower Equestrian (Liz Halliday Sharp’s farm) for the winter. Fabulous facility with everything you need to train. Not to mention two great trainers.
