Okay but this little cutie pie. Give her a year to grow into herself and put on some weight ðŸ˜
Hmmm… you’re right, it does look a little strange. Doesn’t seem to bother him any from the video.
She’s gonna be HUGE! Looks like a well behaved lady.
Aw man, super pretty! Idk what’s more sad, not having the budget, or my current situation which is having the budget but not having the time have 5 ottbs currently that are great but really only have time to be halfway consistent with 2 of them and only because they are mellow enough that if I miss a day or two of work they are easy enough for kids to flat lol. But give me another lol. Ugh but sigh don’t want to take away a nice horse from someone who actually has time for it.
I love OTTBs, but truthfully, I’m probably not the best person to own one. I prefer Foundation or Lippitt Morgans but have had problems finding that ideal horse. I’ve owned an OTTB in the past, but he and I never really clicked. Still, I have a fondness for them and enjoying seeing what’s out there.
What I want is a horse to do VERY low level eventing and showing, and if I never do, I won’t be kicking myself for ‘spending too much money on a “trail” horse.’ I’ve thought about buying an ‘until I find the RIGHT Morgan’ horse for me. I prefer smaller horses WITHOUT “suspension” or destined-for-dressage gaits. I found this little girl, love her chunky-monkey look, she’s relatively close, and her price is really good, but…
She’s adorable!
In my case I get the Fingerlakes Finest listings in my FB feed. It’s very dangerous 😄.
I also don’t have the time, space, or money for another horse. But I keep dreaming.
I get that one too. lol
To answer your initial question… cause sometimes you buy them anyways
I was not “looking” and definitely did not realistically have the funds yet last week I somehow slipped and fell and on my way back up picked up two thoroughbred mares.
Oh I hear you 100% OP! I have the money for a horse, but my body is broken and it’s not “the right time” for one, but I have been window shopping continuously. My horsey friends have itchy fingers to find a horse for me too so they send me ads. I wasn’t so much into OTTB when I did H/J a moon ago, but something has switched.
Naturally, the horse hoarder in a muumuu and rubber boots tendency comes out of me and I want them all.
And just perusing CANTER for the simple matter this thread reminded me to look, I saw the cutie Al Taweel. Handsome, friendly, playful, could be a pony. Chrome. I’m going to go cry under the blankets for a bit.
Looks like he has a home? The link
didn’t work. What was his not-good name?
It was Let Autism Shine.
Yep… looks like he sold. Not surprised.
Al Taweel is nice, Vicksburg Bluffs has a lowered price. Lots of nice ones out there right now.
she needs some farrier attention to that right fore imbalance, but I agree, condition up and then train in a nice muscel topline.
I will always love TBs first and foremost. As a kid almost all the school horses were TBs and I just love their classic look for hunters.
