I agree Chrome looks really great and was surprised to hear they want to bring him back stateside so soon after all of this. To me, it seems like a lot of hoopla for one or two races in England.

I’m impressed by how good he looks from the recent photos. Am I the only one who wishes that they would let him stay a bit longer and see what develops? It looks like racehorse paradise over there to me.[/QUOTE]
no, you’re not the only one!

No reason to think that “any” good horse couldn’t thrive in the UK. I’ve been to IR and the UK on several occasions and been much impressed with their yards and programs.
JMHO but fanatic fans (like CC’s) are in the same league as “TV and other media” handicappers. They usually make much to do about nothing. This years derby might be the exception for handicappers though. Most picked AP or Dortmund. It might be better for me “not to throw stone.”
Seen the latest stupidity from that “Bring Chrome Home” FaceBook page? Where whatever idiot is running it thinks if millions of people make small contributions to (… where?) that “America” can buy out Perry Martin to bring “America’s Horse” home.
I have to ask … what kind of dope is that FB admin smoking?
Is someone actually setting up a fund for that? Where people send actual money! Sounds like a scam to me.
I finally went and looked at the page… holy crazy.
I kind of feel like telling them with a photo of him, asking them where they think it was taken. Head up, ears pricked in England means “lost and searching”. Same pose and expiration in the us means “happy and curious, confident”
If I was involved with the horse I think I’d stop sharing pictures with the public.

DAP’s own page already had to stop or at least limit sharing some of the full siblings pics because they were getting roasted about the “conditions” (small pens under shade that I would guess is a California thing akin to pipe corrals instead of stalls-small mesh wire fencing, deep sand, horses looked happy, it was obviously not their turnout space, but…)
I wonder if people who “want Chrome home” even realize what sort of facilities race horses have in England. He is working out over grass gallops, out in the fresh air and the countryside. It is probably less noisy than an urban racetrack shed row. Or that they realize the place that horses and horse racing have in English culture-- this horse is racing royalty and he is going to be treated with the best of all care. I can only think that Chrome would be thriving in such an atmosphere.
Hmmm, if they raise the money to buy Chrome and bring him home, is the owner of the page going to have room in her apartment for him, what with all the cats and all? Oy, that is a whole lot of crazy on that page.
Oh my. That BCH page…
I don’t think God will allow this beautiful horse to run in all these races. I don’t think Perry
Is going to get any $$$. I think every one knows what I am thinking. I don’t think I can handle
Much more of Perry’s ugliness. I think God is getting tired of him also. I am sad
Bets on how many fur-babies this one owns?

I think they would be more rational if they did start smoking dope. Might calm their crazy down a notch.

From a couple comments I read, they know those things and don’t care, because Chrome misses his “family” or something.
From experience, I would say that the only “family” the horse really misses is whoever dishes out the feed and cookies and whether or not they are on time.
I just made my first visit to the Bring Chrome Home page. I actually know a couple of the posters who used their names.
I live in the general area of Harris Ranch, and am a little surprised to see my acqaintances (very NON-horse people) signing on to this nonsense.

What are they going to do after Chrome comes home? I guess they will have to latch onto something else. I would love to be spending the spring and summer in England.
Who knows what they have in mind. I doubt that they’ve considered such trivia as stalls, hay, tack. Not to mention the cost of flying him here, plus quarantine.
No wonder our govt. is such a mess–people like these folks elect our leaders based on who-knows-what, other than knowledge, research and reason.
Last I heard, Perry Martin was planning to run him in the Arlington Million in August. So I guess there are already plans for him to come back to the US after his race(s) in England.

They need to talk to their suppliers, 'cause I think it’s laced with something right now.
And the drama has ramped up! ZOMG his mouth is bleeding in one picture! The abuse!!!111!!! The rider is oblivious…blah, blah, blah…
Anyone have a link to this page? Morbid curiosity.
