I’ve always subscribed to GCT online and have been around Europe to see the shows including twice to Prague.
But this year I refuse to put my money where a country like the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is the destination for the final. The oppression of women and the LGTB community there is unforgivable. So many other beautiful venues available where showjumping fans, (women as well as men) can attend freely. I hope Jan Tops and his team will change up for next year.

Money. Sport-washing. A large proportion of the world really don’t give a toss about the rights of women or LGTB people. USA, look to yourself.

this model has been in place for many years; the playing of big money to recruit big sport events to these nations. Golf has had a monumental shake up that has pitted pros against pros.
I have seen interviews from other sports where the women say they were taken care of fine. Make no mistake, the countries recognize the value of the touristic dollars these investments and publicity bring
people have to decide for themselves about the cultural issues of women, sexual minority and the extensive use of international (nearly slave) workers when they choose to spend their recreation and business dollars.
