Why is my cat sneezing?

One of my cats has been sneezing a lot today and I am perplexed. I have had the same two cats together for years and they are strictly indoor, and have not been directly exposed to another cat to catch any illness. I haven’t changed any scents and my housekeeping is the same. So what could be making him sneeze? Should I be concerned? He otherwise seems perfectly fine, he’s currently running around and meowing like a fool trying to instigate my other cat to play (this is normal…he’s a little crazy ). I tried wiping his nose with a tissue thinking maybe he got a hair in it or something (he’s a long-haired cat), but it hasn’t helped.

??? I do live in an apartment building, could a neighbor’s cat have spread some airborne illness in here somehow?

One of mind goes through this every year - the vet said it was likely allergies. I gave him Benadryl once (per vet) but the foaming at the mouth and vomiting was much worse for him than the sneezing.

Of course if he developed any other symptoms I’d have him checked him out, but he’s usual self, just sneezy.

One of mine does the same every spring and it usually coincides with the first really warm day, then hangs on for a few days. He looks and acts miserable, but never loses his appetite or a desire to drink; he does lose his voice a bit though. Lasts about 3-4 days and he is back to normal.

Thanks for the responses! To update, the sneezing calmed down after a couple of days. Maybe it was just an allergy thing, weird, he’s never done that before!

Thanks again
