Why is the 2014 eventing calendar so expensive?

$30.00 (I rounded it down) for a calendar seems pretty steep. Does anyone have one?

Maybe they figure that by the time you’ve gotten done with purchasing three entire sets of tack, your imported warmblood, and 3 months of training in Aiken you can afford a $30 calendar.

They’ve been pricey for awhile. I stopped buying them a couple of years ago when the quality of the photos was lacking (odd timing, funny jumps, focus was wonky, awkward moments). I’ve been pretty happy with my free Smartpak calendar if I don’t get my typical Frank Lloyd Wright calendar…and a friend gave me a naked rider calendar that I LOVED. It was, no shock, from the UK, and it was glorious.

where are they?

Wow!!! That could be pretty cool!!!

Is $30 that much more than they’ve been? They’ll be on sale in January, so just buy one then.

Where is this calendar? I keep searching for it, with no success!

I don’t know if any of these are the one YB has but here are 5 naked riding calendars from the UK. Naked calendars for charity are clearly all the rage! Though my initial thought was that it would be men, but all except the last are ladies.

While I surely appreciate naked riders, I am looking for the calendar that the OP is discussing… I would love to have a calendar with the USEA events highlighted. Otherwise, I will keep making my own.

Haha! Opps  obviously I thought you were talking about YB’s naked calendar. Anyway the results of my Googling are there for anyone else that might be after that sort!

Oh, I like the Hunks and Horses one!!

So… I want to get this for a friend for Christmas, but now I can’t find it. Does anyone have the link?? For the non-naked one  Although she may enjoy that one too

FleckenAwesome, I have searched and searched for this $30 calendar and asked everywhere. I’ve finally decided that it just doesn’t exist.

Gone in 30 sec yielded me this calendar - not quite the same as OP’s as the price is $20 ($5 donated to ARP) + $5 shipping
I suspect each area offers similar

Joan from Flatlandsfoto here! The calendars alto linked are in fact mine! I do them as a fund raiser for the ARP here in Area 1 and they are lots of fun! Each page has a montage of 4 - 6 images. The dates for the Area 1 events are included as well. The fun part is the inside back cover which we call the “Thrills and Spills” page. Happy to answer any questions you might have!

The Gabriele Boiselle eventing calendar is around $30.

I don’t know which eventing calendar the OP is referring to. This is the only one I’ve seen this year:

I like to hang an eventing calendar in my tack room and I usually get one from Bit of Britain. Don’t know why they aren’t selling an eventing calendar (unless they sold out already or something…) Right now BoB has two generic horse calendars - both on sale for $9 today, but IMHO they are cheesy my-aunt-bought-me-a-horsey-calendar-because-she-knows-I-like-horses type of shots. One has a friesian running through a field and the other has a horse with a rose in its mouth.

I’m surprised Eventing Nation hasn’t created one.
