Does anyone participate in the WHC? I am going to SU in the spring and would like to maybe find a farm to ride at and maybe lease a horse to do some fox hunting…thanks!
Their website is www.wicomicohunt.com
One of their masters is a member here she is Firefox. You may have seen some of her posts on the Eventing forums.
Great bunch of people!
Wicomico Hunt
Sarah,
Also, try contacting Jleegriffith. She’s a WHC and COTH member and always has some CANTER horses to ride. She will often have one of them Hunting.
Hey, did you have a Two Punch at one time? I vaguely remember a grey from Easton who was a Two Punch. I am hunting one now. Greatest horse on the face of the planet :)
thanks for the advice guys- this search for a barn is finally getting somewhere! and why yes i did have a two punch mare and she was grey!! she is now in Montana living with my aunt who owns an equestrian center. An aduly ammy is leasing her and just LOVES her to death. Two Punch really does have some fantastic minded babies!
I’m a student @ SU and rode with WHC during Opening Day last year and know all the Masters, SUPER nice people, great places to hunt, and everyone has a good time. I’m hoping to get out some this year and join if my guy likes it! PM me if you need anyone’s email or want info about SU.
I completely agree that Wicomico Hunt is worth your interest - I even heard they have a hot new hunstman!
LOL on the huntsman comment!
but…he’s totally TAKEN, I think Gibson above might have a little bit of information in that area!
We had a TERRIFIC day over at Windswept today. What an awesome farm. One beautiful field after another. And what a nice clubhouse and so much FOOD…Sarah, if you get up with Kristin, you could hunt her appendix I think, he is probably quiet enough. Not sure the fixture card for Nov-Dec. is on the website, I’ll check to see if they want it up and load it if so.
Retread, did you Hunt last Sunday, joint meet? If so, we might’ve met.
Yesterday’s Open Hunt
I went on my first hunt yesterday at Wicomico’s open hunt and we had a great time. The weather and scenery were beautiful and the people so nice.
Foxhunting was on my bucket list and we get to cross that one off couldn’t have done it with a nicer group of people.
I’ve hunted with WHC for years now. Talk to Cindy Wood, she’s awesome and will readily help out anyone looking to join along
I just recently sold my mare, but hope to get my best friend into hunting and so will borrow one of her horses.
I know all about that “hot huntsman” too… Oof.
I’m sad I’ve missed their opening day this year. I will definitely be out sometime this season with said best friend. We should have a mini-COTH get together
