Not good. Today’s x-rays show sinking in both front feet. And he poops and pees and eats and flirts and begs for food and does all his normal stuff, but his feet hurt. He is not suffering, he is not leaning back with his butt against the wall, he is just very uncomfortable. So I dunno if the skinking has stopped, or if it will stop, or if this will be the end. Right now he acts like a perfectly normal horse (okay, I know it’s Willem so I use the term “perfectly normal” loosely, because he is as mad in real life as he is on the www) who has sore feet.
But the chances she gave him were 50-50. And that bites the big one.
So I am concentrating on the good and the positive and hoping and praying for the best. And, as always, my love and thanks to all of you. Your kind words and thoughts and jingles mean the world to me and it touches my heart.

Willem, you remind me so much of my old hanoverian schoolmaster, Akteur (22 years old this May and fresh as a 3 year old). he has the same beautiful red coat as you, would love nothing more than an in-stall ice cream machine, and definately speaks the same wonderful german-english-spanish.

Thank you, it really does suck. I am preparing for the worst while hoping for the best. 
On a totally separate note, I hope you are feeling wonderful - when is your big day? You guys must be so very excited! And Cypress must already be looking forward to her first leadline class with precious cargo. That will be a photo to remember.

Poor Willem – My mare prefered to spit out Pentoxifylline – Worse is struggling to get it into them and not seeing great results – Have you tried Pergolide? Tons of flavors to choose from – My mare highly recommends grape –
The lily pads did make my mare much more comfortable – What made an even bigger difference for her was filling her stall with sand –
I felt so guilty not being able to feed treats – Now I comfort myself by feeding handfuls of sunflower seeds – I also keep her happier by feeding beet pulp at mealtime –

Sure hope Willem is feeling better. I cared for a pony with Cushings and he foundered very easily. Sadly, his owner would insist on feeding him terribly bad things (the mashed up apples from making cider, fresh cut lawn grass, corn husks, etc, in large amounts).
Our own dear Galley had Cushings as well, but never foundered so we were spared that agony.
