Hi all… I’d like to talk to someone in the Windy Hollow Hunt in NJ. My niece is a new resident in that area and interested in the hunt. I am a member in Ohio, and plan to take her out with us when she visits here, but meanwhile, she’d like to explore your club in NJ. She does not have a horse, but might be interested in a social membership to start. Is there someone here who would be willing to say hi to her at an upcoming fixture? She is a professional working young lady and an accomplished rider. She writes for Horses in Art magazine, and is just fun to be around. She bakes killer cookies too.

There are a few hunts in NJ, if that is where your niece is now based. As a member of the Amwell Valley Hounds in NJ, I would be happy to meet your niece and introduce her to everyone. We have numerous social members that come out car following and enjoy our wonderful “teas”. There are a couple of members who occasionally have hirelings available as well. Car following is a great way to learn about hunting and it’s traditions before coming out. Our hunt is very supportive of “newbies” and always takes great care of guests. Our fixture card is on our website - www.avhounds.org, but it would be best to contact our honorary secretary (she occasionally visits this forum) to get details on which fixture is the best to car follow.
