Ditto…that was fun to watch:D

I have to vote for #2. I saw it live at the region 9 championships and it was amazing!

Well done King and Julie!

#4

My vote is for #1

Latest voting totals (YouTube, UDBB, CotH, e-mails):

Contestant 3: 147

Contestant 2: 120

Contestant 4: 107

Contestant 1: 46

Big move by Contestant 2! Voting ends November 30.

3 Gets My Vote

I would like to place my vote for #3! I am amazed that what is to be a work horse has the ability to be this graceful. The music is also quite a choice - very emotional. A pleasure to watch!

Voting - #3 Takes the cake

I would like to place my vote for #3 - all I can say is WOW! Talk about versatility - take a horse that used to be a war horse, and a plow horse, and boom - now it is a dancing dressage star! Big girls can do dressage!

What a fake competition with all these first time posters and the same people voting at youtube, udbb, email and coth:yes:

Team #4 The Pax de Deux

The Pax de Deux, although not error free, was by far the best. The grey horse is lovely.

The winners and placings have been announced in the OP on page 1!

Teddy’s Mom - this “contest” had nothing to do with good riding or educating your eye, but everything with who could get the most people to vote on Youtube. That’s a great message we’re sending to young folks, don’t you think?

Actually, it wasn’t about judging dressage, but about appreciating the interaction of the ride with the music. Look at the winning video, at how well the rhythm of the music matches the rhythm of the horse? It’s really lovely

I didn’t vote, since I couldn’t be impartial with a draft involved.

Great contest, Mike. I hope it accomplishes what you’d hoped (more interest in lower level freestyles!).

An education in what life is really like.

Votes or judges, there are always complaints about how the wrong entry won.

Ambrey, you “got it” in terms of the purpose of the contest.

Final vote tally:
Contestant 2 - 191
Contestant 3 - 168
Contestant 4 - 120
Contestant 1 - 51

As King’s owner, I am just thrilled by the outcome of the contest. He was off for 2 1/2 years with a badly torn DDF tendon. Several Vet Radiologists said that the horse would never be competition healthy. Thanks to Vet Stem, he has been back competing since spring of 2007. King would not be where he is today without Julie Madriguera. Julie and her husband, Lyndon Rife, have had the patience to bring him along slowly. I never dreamed that King could hold his own against all the wonderful warmbloods out there. He is a very special horse.

Congrats to all. All were impressive rides.

I thought all of them were lovely but I honestly am wondering why one of the rides did not get as many votes as I thought they would. I realize that it is more about popularity but one of the rides made me go WOW more than the others. Is it possible to maybe discuss why you picked a certain ride over the other without it getting nasty? Or is that too much to hope for? Perhaps put what level you have ridden through?

I came in to late on this. I did like 4 the best. They looked the best and flowed the best. They all did a good job though, I want to try a freestyle next year, lots of work ahead.
