Wintec Pro endurance Anyone ride it?

I am looking for a new saddle for trail but need to feel more secure than my all AP saddle.

If anyone uses the wintec Endurance can you tell me if you like it. I am concerned about the front blocks and thigh blocks locking my leg in place. The blocks are not velcroed on so can’t remove them.
I was going to order flocked as so many COTHERS seem to hate CAIR and to get it flocked is a special order with no trial period.
Open to other suggestions as to secure trail saddle but not western . I need to feel my horse and I need english style leathers.

I tried the Wintec Pro Stockman(aussie) ,very secure but it put me in the chair seat. I like a straight leg…
Thoughts?

I sat in one in a tack store and hated it. The thigh block is positioned oddly so it felt like a dressage saddle, not an AP.

The front blocks on the Wintec endurance can be moved. There is a simple set of screws on the underside which allow you to place the block in a more forward, or more back, position. The more forward position is what most people seem to prefer IME. However, yes - this “endurance” saddle really is just a slight re-working of the Pro Dressage. Same seat (wide twist, btw), same flap, same panels for the horse. Just the external block difference and abundant D rings to attach things to.

Have you looked into the Thorowgood endurance saddle? I have one and love it. It has slight blocks that can be moved about for your comfort and I find mine allows me to have a longer leg

Thanks so much I had no idea it is a wide twist . With my hips I need a narrow twist or I’m in pain. I thoght all those blocks could be uncomfortable. With bad knees and hips I often change position and billet length during a long ride and it really helps me stay pain free…
If you could have any saddle you wanted within a deep seat ,english style what would you want?
Tucker kills me with their twist and gel seat.
My horse is very very short backed.I just been getting nervous riding a AP .

Just looked at the Thorowgood and thats a lot like what I’m riding now.Phillippe Fontaine trail saddle.
I’ve lost my nerve and wanting a deeper more secure seat. especially out with a group. My Legs aren’t what they used to be.
Thats why I thought about the wintec aussie style but those poleys are huge!

yes, it is, but it has a very grippy seat. I have had it for about 10 years (old model) and have ridden out some big spooks. the only time I came off is when my horse bolted and then bucked. last week, I rode my older horse on the trail in it and I haven’t trail ridden her in 2 years. what I kike about it is that it fits my horse which also has a short back. good luck with saddle shopping

I have the saddle I wanted  … a Prestige Atena. Seriously comfortable endurance model. Not a particularly deep seat, but it’s still very secure.

We use Rubicons, by the Arabian Saddle company. The knee blocks are moveable/removeable and I feel the seat is deep enough to be secure without making you feel locked into place.

I’ve ridden a couple of 50s and Tevis in the Wintec enduro you’re asking about, liked it well enough. Have tried about a dozen saddles, (inc the Aussie version, which I could not post in because of the poleys). One good study showed those air panels reduced shock to the horse’s back.

I was at a saddle shop yesterday and they were working on a Wintec so I got to see the construction. they then showed me the “panel” in the Wintecs. I was shocked, tiny little things ,no width to them , they were so light the wind almost blew one away and that was a flocked panel. How can they charge $1000 +for this junk.

Although the shop carried lots of wintec’s when she showed me the cheap construction I would never buy one. It probably cost less than $100 to make one. Total garbage.
He said the Bates were the same just in leather. I wouldn’t trust my life or my horses back to these “saddles”.
Unreal
