Wintec VS Tekna Seats

I have a Wintec Dressage Pro, an old beat up thing. It has served its purpose. As someone with a tight budget still VERY new to Dressage, I decided to go with another low-cost saddle and ordered a Tekna S-Line Dressage. One day it will get here so I can see if it will work for me and my horse. Should come next week if the flooding in my area doesn’t mess anything up…

The Wintec put me in a sort of chair seat. Well, I won’t blame the saddle 100%, a part of it is something I need to work on anyway.

But for anyone who has sit in a Tekna, how does the seat compare? Is it a bit deeper? Does it allow you to open your hip better?
Just curious as I go mad waiting for my new saddle!

Wintecs are much wider in the twist (the part of the saddle directly under your crotch) and broader in the seat than the Teknas. It will feel entirely different to you.

A more narrow twist often lets riders struggling with tight hips feel more comfortable and connected to their horses.

Good! Hopefully it will help me out then. I can’t wait to try it out… I’m the most impatient person…

When your saddle arrives, I’d love to know your opinions on it. I’ve always had the same problem with Wintecs and a chair seat.

Will do!
