I have a pair of the Tropical Rider Toasties LITE with the extended lambskin patch and don’t like them at all. It’s like having a really stretchy pair of sweatpants with a leather butt stitched on. The fabric IMO does not have enough structure to make a good riding breech. They get baggy quickly and I have to roll the waistband down because everything is stretching. They snag and get holes easily. I only wear them on the very coldest of days that I’d even consider riding. The rest of the time I just wear my Piper knit breeches with thermal tights underneath.
Might be TMI but I had Tropical Riders a number of years ago and while they were great in really cold weather, there was a serious camel toe issue. It was very odd but maybe had to do with the waist being too low? Has anyone else had the issue? I’d love to try them again but it was bad and I don’t normally have that issue with breeches.
I hate the tropical rider fit. Narrow unflattering waistband, front seam that’s right in the business. I guess if you have no fat, they would be fine. On me, its a sausage with a wedgie.
Sticky seat hands down makes the best, most comfortable winter riding breeches I’ve ever worn
