Winter insulated dress boots for hunting?

Are there such a thing?
I’ve been tasked to find some for a surprise Christmas present…but I am not having much luck finding them…
Suggestions?

Personally, I hunt in my Aigles in the winter and am perfectly comfortable…but I am not shopping for ME!!!

I was tasked with finding insulated dress boots that are totally leather, upper and foot. Turns out there isn’t much that fits those criteria.

I ended up with the Treadstone Aspen (160 bucks is the best price I could find, I think at VTO). Overall, I’m okay with what I got for the money and they’ve been nice to wear so far, including in the rain.

On the plus side, they are extremely comfortable, easy to get on and off, and seem fairly warm.

On the not-so-plus side: They are very, very soft, with zero ankle support, and generally don’t feel like riding boots. The leather is soft and almost sueded, so it’s proving to be a lot of work to get a shine and easy-clean surface, and I’m not sure how durable they’re going to be. Finally, I think the zipper on the outside of the leg looks clunky and there’s not a lot of choice in terms of height and calf size.

Dehner’s web site says they have insulation that can be added (to the foot only) of their custom boots. But of course, custom boots are a pricey Christmas present

I have a pair of Mountain Horse leather zip tall boots. They have a lining on the leg portion of the boot and the foot area is plenty roomy to allow for extra thick socks and you can still move your toes.

I am of related to reptiles ;), so I still had cold toes. I went and got a pair of these.

I have used them for one whole winter season and am looking forward to using them this year. I use them in my paddock boots as well.

I was using the air activated toe or sole warmers, but they would sometimes get TOO hot. The thermosoles turn off and on depending on your body temperature.

If needing warmer boots is due to cold feet the thermosoles may be a gift that can be used for more than just riding.

Here are someTuffas, insulated with wool.

not exactly dress boots tho. but close.

love the ideas so far…and may steal some of them for myself.
since she plans to hunt in these boots, a more traditional look would be best.
oh, and cost isn’t an issue!

I have those, and they’re awesome!

I have the Dehners with the insulated foot. I still use the toe warmers when it’s below 35 degrees F though.

my vote!

Second Mountain Horse. The foot is bigger and roomier for thick socks too. Lined calves! and they are waaaay less expensive too!
