Winter Riding Boots Help!

What does everyone look for in winter riding boots? Prefer tall boot or paddock boot and half chaps?

There are a handful on the market but non have yet to meet my standards of what I would like in a winter boot.

What boots would everyone recommend that aren’t too bulky but still keep you warm during those chilly months!

TIA!

I have tall Ariat Extreme’s for lessons and clinics. I got them on sale. They are super warm, winters here get into the teens and I find them warm enough. They are bulkier that regular tall boots, but I use my normal stirrups and they still look presentable for clinics.

For home I have Bromont Paddock boots and an older style of Ariats.

I ordered faux fur lined Doc Martens. I’ve got men’s size 10 feet + bunions fasciitis and a bone spur. Good shoe super important.

I’m just PNW so not that cold.

I have Ariat insulated water proof paddock boots that I wear with wool socks, fleece tights and fleece winter breeches, with half chaps. I have enough layers on my lower legs that I feel I don’t need insulated tall boots. This requires half chaps that have stretched a bit or a bit generous fit.

I gave up on finding a decent pair of winter riding boots that fit, hold up. I wear my Sorrel boots to the barn in winter for chores. When I ride I put on my regular riding boots but wear Smartwool socks (they are only socks that are really warm). This works well. Dubarry Boots are also very warm to wear to the barn and they are waterproof.
