She’s a beauty and I hope she does well on the track but, it’s hard to imagine she will be another Winx. Of course her bloodlines are her real value.

Is it common for top racing mares to have so much trouble foaling? I know Rachel Alexandra and Zenyatta both had serious problems.

Zenyatta lost a foal in paddock accident and one from meconium aspiration. She aborted once. I don’t believe she ever had difficulty foaling or rejected a foal as did Rachel Alexandra.

My mistake, I thought I had read the reason she wasn’t bred again was because of previous issues. I wonder why shy only had a few foals.
Editing because I found the answer. She lost several foals and then aborted the last two, then was retired as a broodmare.

So she aborted her last and second from last foals. Good distinction, I’m giving you and Laurierace blue ribbons. Would have been easier to mention the Candy Ride foal in between the two aborted ones but I suppose it was much more satisfying to be… snippy

Her last foal is a War Front filly who is a yearling now so clearly was not aborted. I suppose It is easier to be snippy and wrong than to ask questions or research yourself. It was literally in the article you posted yourself, all you had to do was read it.

What does the Aus$ amount equal in U.S.$? Just curious. It clearly is a lot of money nonetheless.
