C***! Hope she is OK–I am sure they are monitoring her like crazy. One thinks that once they retire from racing, they are safe. They just enter a new area of risk.

Very disappointed to hear this. I was so looking forward to seeing her foal. If I remember correctly, her due date was in October so she was fairly near term?
“Normal” due date in horses is anywhere from 320-360 days post breeding. So yes, the problem happened when she was full term.
