The last 10-15 years have been a bit of wonder age for fillies and mares globally. But this filly Winx could be the best of the bunch.
She won her 2nd Cox Plate last night (today in Australia).

That is her 13th win in a row.
I love Winx and that was a great race!
It was something else to watch. I stayed up to watch it live and had to rewatch it again this morning to make sure my eyes weren’t deceiving me. She looked like she was out for a nice gallop in the stretch.
Put another notch in Winx’s belt.
Number 17 in a row yesterday (today?) in the Longines Queen Elizabeth Stakes (GI) at Royal Randwick.
She makes it look easy. Sat off the pace, move up in the turn and easily took the lead for a win.
She’s quite the mare. Her next planned start is in October in the Cox Plate (GI) attempting for three in a row for that race.
Why the world isn’t exploding with excitement over this mare, I don’t know.
This is something special, beyond special.
She wins with such ease, I can’t think of another horse, a mare no less, that repeatedly wins G1s in open company over classic distances in a canter.
Any chance that she might come to the Breeders’ Cup?
I think it’s because she’s in Australia. Many folks think that makes her a lessor horse than those running over in Europe

Are most of the big Australian races both sexes? (Like in the US)
Other than running on turf vs dirt why wouldn’t they try her in the dubai? The money is obscene!

oh I agree. I love her. She just such an awesome runner to watch. Not the smoothest mover, but man can she cover the ground well.
I just have heard/read lots of folks saying until she’s faced the best of Europe, she hasn’t proven herself
Mommy peanut, that’s what I’m wondering. What are the numbers as far as time, broken track records, set new track records, etc. I enjoyed the links to her races and I’m not trying to take away anything from this lovely mare!
It does remind me of another mare that pretty much only ran with the girls vs the other one that took on the boys.
MP, I think I caught part of a discussion on TVG that her stride isn’t that big but very quick and that is where her speed comes from.
Time, track records, etc don’t mean much as each track is different. Same with purses… hard to compare based just on dollars won.
For me, any horse that is running and winning consecutive GI is quality, regardless of breaking records.

Just to add to what WMW stated above, one also has to take into consideration that Winx has also been the high weight carrier (for mares & sometimes overall) in many of her races.
She has won in both sprints & going over a route of ground, in all types of conditions(fast, heavy, etc).
Love her. Times like this make me wish I was still in Oz. Australia seem to produce amazing mares - Black Caviar, Maybe Diva etc.
Pretty sure the world was discrediting/ down playing Black Caviar at the same point in her career.

She beat the crap out of Highland Reel, a BC Turf winner, King George winner, 2nd in the ARC, a multiple G1 winner on 4 continents. Made him look like very ordinary.

I think she’s more than proven herself & earned her place in the history books.
I was just responding to a couple comments about why more people aren’t talking about her, based on what I’ve seen, read, heard on various sources.
A friend brought me back from Oz a Winx hat and I couldn’t be happier with it. Although scant little in terms of financial returns are had with her races. I had $20 to win and $3 straight exacta last race and the profit didn’t even clear enough to buy a cocktail …
Glimmer, how cool for the hat and tickets. I almost wouldn’t have cashed them in but kept them for sentimental value 
Kinda like the win tickets on Arrogate and Unique Bella at the moment. Nice to have but not much residual value…
