Wish NBC Would Do This With Equestrian

Right now NBC and NBCSN are showing the same thing live. Track and field. The women’s hurdles. They have one announcer on NBC, another (British) on NBCSN.

I wish they would do this with equestrian. Not show the same thing on two channels, but show it live with the good British announcers. Those guys know what they’re talking about.

I watch soccer sometimes with a friend. I knew nothing about soccer, but I’ve learned a little from watching games on NBCSN with commentators who know the game and the players and aren’t trying to teach their viewers who don’t.

Why can’t NBC do this for the equestrian Olympic competitions?

I’d much rather learn the difference between a horse landing with his hoof on the red tape at the water and just letting his fetlock joint rock back on it, than learn that the rider’s mom took on two hairdressing jobs so she could buy him a pony when he was 12.

Yes, if you watch live the commentators are much better. The point is it would be great to have knowledgeable commentators for TV like many other sports have. I agree!

The livestream commentators have been better across the board. I’ve been watching Equestrian and Gymnastics on there, and SO’s watched a few things like Sailing that haven’t gotten any TV coverage I’ve seen, and they’ve all had great commentary. I don’t know why they don’t just keep that commentary for the reairs on TV if/when that happens, they’re so much more informative.

I have it live on my phone but I love my big-screen TV, and all I can get on-demand on it is replays and highlights.

If you have any kind of cable or Roku you can get live streaming which is GREAT!

Evidently there are also companies which let you join for 1 week if you do not have cable/satellite.

Everyone has it where I am. It is the only way to get 500 stations Or even 200

I’m not 100% sure why the commentary makes such a big difference but it is huge. Watching Charlotte’s freestyle on my ipad at work (shhh) with livestream commentary was one million times better than seeing it on my big screen HD TV with the ghastly commentary from MST. With freestyle of course, you want to hear the music, but the other disciplines as well, it is so much more valuable with good commentary.
