Favorite heart monitor for tracking multiple horses fitness, work loads and heart rate? Have a barn full of event horses, and an iPhone I need to utilize better!
I wish I could remember what podcast episode it is, but they talk about the good ones on Equiratings. I believe you can also use any heart monitor, it doesnt have to be equine specific.
I use a human polar hear monitor and have for a few years. Here’s an article I wrote for our newsletter on how to modify it. I use it for combined driving fitness work, but I used it with my western and dressage saddle when I was testing it, so no problem there.
My only additional tip since then is to unsnap it from the belt, it helps the battery last a bit longer.
