I had the vet out last week and she suggested that while the fit of the saddle I was using on my gelding is okay, it’s really too small in the withers, and may be too small for my giant behind. She suggested getting a fitter out. I’ve been using this saddle for a while with no issues but would like to prevent long term problems. I reached out to one person but she’s next available in late August. Does anyone have recommendations for fitters in the Buffalo area?
I feel your pain… I went through a bunch of people before I found one who was trustworthy and helpful, and not just trying to sell me the “perfect saddle she just happened to have in her truck” at the time.
Kerri Gaffney is great - she’s the NY County rep, but she works on other saddles as well. I didn’t realize how badly my saddle needed to be reflocked until she fixed it for me. I got on and thought, “Ok, this is how my saddle is supposed to feel!” My Horse seems much happier now too. I can PM you her contact info if you’d like!

Would be interested, please do! I did decide to schedule with the woman I have contact for, but it’s good to have multiple options. I didn’t realize I had a fit issue until my vet pointed it out, and too narrow across the withers definitely explains the topline issues I’ve been having with this particular horse.
Port Jervis is not really Western NY.
Thanks I’m aware, since I live about 7 miles from her and there’s no Wegmans here.
LOL she covers most of the state and other states as well, because she is THAT good.
There’s a wegmans in MA. Does that mean I have always lived in WNY?
Uh, what I wrote was a joke… not sure about your comment.
Good luck with your saddle hunt.
I was joking back. I guess my sarcasm fell flat :C
oh wegmans. how much i miss you . unless you experienced it, you can’t relate how much a grocery store can mean… no judging
I didn’t grow up with Wegmans. The first time I went into one I was like, WHAT IS THIS MAGICAL PLACE?
