Wofford has passed

I got to meet him at not-Rolex last year. I can’t remember which day, I think XC day since there were very few people in the vendor areas. We were passing the PH booth and I thought I recognized him. He was sitting waiting for people to come get copies of PH signed by him, but no one was around yet. My friends were chicken but I went up and got to chat with him a bit. I wish I could remember what about, but it was pretty meaningless stuff and I was a bit nervous. He signed a copy of the current issue for me, and I asked if he would mind signing one for an eventer friend that was supposed to come but couldn’t make it, had a fall off her TB and broke her tailbone, but is a huge fan. He was super sweet and signed another copy for her.

My favorite moment though was when his dog got loose trying to run up to another dog and I grabbed the leash on pure instinct like a ninja :joy: I don’t think anything would have happened, but he was appreciative anyways since he couldnt get up very fast! I’m so glad I got to meet him, beyond being an absolute legend he seemed like such a cool guy.

OK, I am confused. What does this have to do with Jimmy?

Some times, when you post on a thread, post ends of in another, a glitch on the system it has happened to me before.
I generally check when I post, I had to run, someone at the door and didn’t, sorry, will delete and post in the right place, hopefully, next. :speak_no_evil:

I never met Mr Wofford that I remember, have his book that I really learned so much from.
What a life story and what interesting horses he had to ride.

Condolences to his family and friends.

Not a problem. I suspected it might be something like that.

I did not know Jimmy well, but I have met him multiple times- mostly at the USEA meeting, but I also took clinics from him, and he was my sister’s primary coach at the beginning of this century.
