Could you possibly post a link for me. I feel a little stupid but I just can’t find anything in the 1824 label. I’m probably just looking in the wrong place.

You can also google “1824 equestrian” and it will give you the links.

mswille… I have a Devon Aire Show Coat in navy… got it from State Line Tack… they go up to 22 or so I think and are generously sized.

I have the Devon Aire in a 22, there’s not way that has a 48 chest.

mswillie, check your PM’s

My RJ Classics is close to a 48" bust. It’s a size 22R. The size chart says it should be around 46", but I think it’s larger than that.

Speaking of RJ Classics. Why do they do bigger sizes in jackets but stop at a much smaller size of pants than jackets? It always seemed odd I could find their shirts and jackets to fit, but they never seem to have pants larger than 36. Or, am I missing something? Love their stuff, would love to love their pants.

I agree- I ended up ordering a size down from the one I thought matched my measurements.

Just a PSA:

I got the Smartpak Bradley Show Shirt, long sleeved. These run really small!!! Small all over and ESPECIALLY small in the neck collar, cuffs and armholes/sleeves.

It’s going back. Really disappointed. I got the 2X which according to the chart should have comfortably fit me. It was way too small.

Wicked bummed. I have a couple clinics coming up and wanted to look nice.[/QUOTE]

I ordered the smart pak show shirt they have advertised in the plus sized section, I had planned on ordering a 1x, since I don’t like my shirts tight. I wear a large at old navy to give my size and accidently ordered a 3x from smart pak. Well the 3x was sooo small it was horrible! This shirt runs way small!

Short inseam breeches?

I’m 5’5" but apparently I have short legs, because the breeches I currently have are crazy long for me. They fit okay for schooling, but I am wondering if I’m somehow missing out on some element of comfort because the things don’t fit me properly. (I doubt, for example, the knee patches are actually hitting me where they should, although they do manage to still cover the inside of my knee.)

I searched COTH but mostly I found thinner petite women talking about kids breeches and that sort of thing and, well. No. No one wants to see me squish myself into kids breeches.

Any ideas? I’m a 14-ish in pants generally. (Ish because finding normal trousers that fit is a whole different issue…)

I don’t really want to go $$$ or custom because I don’t show or anything at the moment, so it doesn’t seem worth it. Unless I am missing something about the fit/comfort of breeches because of the way regular ones fit me.

I don’t know of any particularly inexpensive options for shorter, rounder women. But do look at Equissentials; they will do made-to-measure breeches for the same price as off the rack. (Only thing is, I can’t provide you a link because they no longer have a webpage and seem to be marketing through Facebook, which is Utter Fail IMO.) Their deerskins are expensive, of course, but the “grip bums” and “grip knees” – basically a stenciled on, sticky pattern – work quite well.

Marketing through Facebook? Seriously? Who decided that was a good idea?

(Probably the same people who decided that everyone with a wider calf must also have really long legs. Sigh.)

Don’t despair they are still about outside of fb http://www.thetailoredhorse.com/

This Equissentials site seems to work

Kdow, the ovation dry lex plus sized my dear,

Hi folks, anybody have info on the fit of Irideon Topline breeches and tights? I’m sort of shaped like Humpty Dumpty. I carry most of my weight on my tummy. I usually disregard waist measurements on size charts and size by hip since I have no waist. I have skinny legs and thighs and no butt. (I’ve been taking ballet classes which has only emphasized this more.) I have a pair of XL chaps from college that I can zip into but can’t buckle around my middle. I’m 5’6" and actually prefer to wear my pants up over my belly button with a long shirt, since my lack of a waist makes alot of structured pants uncomfortable. I am the opposite of those Fuller Fillies models. Anyway I liked the idea of the band on the Topline breeches, being able to pull that up to help pull in my middle. But I can’t find them in a 2X. I’m wondering if they are stretchy enough that I can try the XL? Anybody have experience with them? Or have other suggestions for egg shaped ladies?

I don’t know anything about the Topline breeches, but the Cadence has a very stretchy waist. I compare myself to Spongebob because my waist and hips are about the same size.

That’s good to know. I ordered the towlines in a 1X so we’ll see. If they don’t fit, I’ll send them back and order something else. This will be my first pair of breeches, so excited to see how I like them. I usually ride in those jean type leggins. They are fine, but I feel kind of sloppy.

Hi there, everyone! I’m a long-time lurker (no account) and finally decided to jump into the COTH board, especially after reading this thread.

I share in so many of your problems; I’m just under 5’2", wear a size 16 in normal pants, with a curvy figure plus a belly (thanks PCOS), and finding riding clothes that fit is DEPRESSING. I have had luck with FITS, as their XL is a 16-18 (have to roll them up at the ankle, though); had no luck with Fuller Fillies breeches (I so want plaid, but FF is just very wonky on my short and stubby frame); used to be able to fit into a 36 Ariat but can’t anymore.

And boots? No. Fricken. Way. I hate riding in my half chaps and want tall boots but it’s a losing battle. I’ve tried the Fuller Fillies boots on a few times but I’m picky about leather and that leather ain’t good. I went so far as to get measured for semi-custom Der Dau’s; my calf was measured as an 18.5" which was news to me–I have fashion boots that are 16-16.5" and those fit fine–and Der Dau charges I think $150 for a calf over 17". I really don’t want to go the custom route but I think it’s my only choice; Dehner’s is my #1 choice right now as their calf overage charge starts at 21". I ordered a catalog with leather samples (I really, really want the wine Dragoon leather … I’m a purple fanatic!) so we’ll see. If anyone has gotten a pair of Dehner’s and has any insight that would be great. Based on those measurements for Der Dau I don’t think I can go with the Petries; height is a HUGE issue and I think my leg is maybe 16" in height if I’m lucky!

Store manager at Smartpak said that they were working to develop a range of plus-size footwear but had no idea when it would be out. So we can hopefully look forward to that in the not-so-distant future …

Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself and keep this thread alive!

Their tall boots aren’t quite as showworthy as your typical mainstream choices (a bit clunky looking and made from dragoon rather than calfskin) but are very comfortable and durable and in my opinion better than the Fuller Fillies. I have to say I love the steel toes, they have saved me from crushed toes on many occasions. I’m on my second pair. They have a short wide (or extra wide) option (I’m 5’4") and I got them for my first pair but they were a little short once they dropped. Their regular height boots fit me better. You need to look in the size charts rather than go through the size checker because it always comes up as needs custom. They have ample elastic in the back so they should fit fine and you can always have them taken in by a cobbler.
