Here’s a question, is there such a think as a warm weather pair of “breeches”? I love how cool tights are in the heat, but hate how they make my legs look. On the flip side, breeches look better but I hate peeling them off myself on a hot day.
Is there a solution?[/QUOTE]
Try these:

I ordered them in sage, and it’s almost a hunter-ring puke green, which is okay because it means I can use them if I go to hunter shows for schooling, but I had only planned on them for non-show use. They look nice, though, and will definitely stay cool. My one complaint: The fabric is a little rough. I’m used to cotton, and these move over my skin instead of with it, and are a scratchy texture, so I think if I wore them all day, they might chafe at the backs of my knees, inner thigh, etc. But definitely cool! The zippered pocket is actually made of mesh, which is kind of cool in both senses.
I wear size 22 Lane Bryant jeans, and I ordered these in 42 and had to send them back b/c they were absolutely swimming on me. The 40s are okay, still a tad long (I am 5’4" and short-legged), and looser than most of my cotton breeches, but with that fabric, i think they’d be really uncomfortable if they were tight.
Oh, and while we’re on the subject of Equestrian Collections, I ordered the Ovation dressage coat in 30 (the largest size) and could barely get it on despite what the size chart said. The waist fit but the bust was iffy and the hips were totally not ok. So I ordered the 1824 wool dressage coat instead, same size (well, actually, the menu on the page goes by bust size…but since the size chart says 30=52" bust, I ordered the size “52”). It came, and I looked like I was wearing a garbage sack. It was h.u.g.e!. So I ordered the 28/50, it came, it’s still big enough that it hangs shapelessly, but I’m afraid the 26 will gap at the vent. Damn wide hips!!! Sleeves being too long is expected, but I would really like to have something that didn’t need lots of other alterations just to fit at both waist and hip. Argh. I’m about ready to just make my own.
