QUICK!!! Any thoughts on this?? http://www.vtosaddlery.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=VTO&Product_Code=LDSO&Category_Code=CT[/QUOTE]

I’d go that route only if they would let me choose the size for each item. I am one of those pear shaped people, top smaller than bottom, UGH.
Looks nice though! Let us know if you bought it!

It looks great! I just hope that the breeches sizes given are actual sizes and not waist-measurement sizes, which are often given in horsey catalogues. If they’re actual sizes, that’s great.

I did buy it, and they did let me choose the size of each item. However, they were out of the white breeches in 36!! I was so excited, because they were knee patch and it’s hard to find knee patches in white. So, they’re sending me full seats for the same price…a good deal if they’ll fit!

I’m going to try ripping the seams out of the calves and putting in some elastic. After all, they’ll be covered by the boots, right?

I can’t believe it, they came today! I only ordered them two days ago!

I bought the jacket in 22. My 20’s have been just a tad snug, especially in the arms, so I decided to go a little big and I’m glad! Fits just right in the arms, but I’ll want to have a tailor take in the waist a little.

Miraculously, the size 36 pull-on full seats fit! They’re a bit snug, but they’ll do! Quite stretchy. Trying to figure out what to do for underwear! Guess I’ll do a search…

Oh, and the size 42 blouse fits, but I expected it to. I got a long sleeve because I have several short sleeve already.

Here’s a question, is there such a think as a warm weather pair of “breeches”? I love how cool tights are in the heat, but hate how they make my legs look. On the flip side, breeches look better but I hate peeling them off myself on a hot day.

Is there a solution?

Twnkltoz-- on the dressage forum people rave about “Spankz” and the generic equivalent for under the whites.

CurlyL, Tropical Riders maybe? I dunno. I go with wallyworld leggings in the summer. I ride alone.

Editing: thanks Chocomare!!!

pssst, post them here: http://bitsandbarter.proboards74.com/index.cgi - It’s free!

Try these:

I ordered them in sage, and it’s almost a hunter-ring puke green, which is okay because it means I can use them if I go to hunter shows for schooling, but I had only planned on them for non-show use. They look nice, though, and will definitely stay cool. My one complaint: The fabric is a little rough. I’m used to cotton, and these move over my skin instead of with it, and are a scratchy texture, so I think if I wore them all day, they might chafe at the backs of my knees, inner thigh, etc. But definitely cool! The zippered pocket is actually made of mesh, which is kind of cool in both senses.

I wear size 22 Lane Bryant jeans, and I ordered these in 42 and had to send them back b/c they were absolutely swimming on me. The 40s are okay, still a tad long (I am 5’4" and short-legged), and looser than most of my cotton breeches, but with that fabric, i think they’d be really uncomfortable if they were tight.

Oh, and while we’re on the subject of Equestrian Collections, I ordered the Ovation dressage coat in 30 (the largest size) and could barely get it on despite what the size chart said. The waist fit but the bust was iffy and the hips were totally not ok. So I ordered the 1824 wool dressage coat instead, same size (well, actually, the menu on the page goes by bust size…but since the size chart says 30=52" bust, I ordered the size “52”). It came, and I looked like I was wearing a garbage sack. It was h.u.g.e!. So I ordered the 28/50, it came, it’s still big enough that it hangs shapelessly, but I’m afraid the 26 will gap at the vent. Damn wide hips!!! Sleeves being too long is expected, but I would really like to have something that didn’t need lots of other alterations just to fit at both waist and hip. Argh. I’m about ready to just make my own.

 I googled spankz and got all kinds of interesting results!

Auction for 18+" calf dress boots on eBay.

(No, I am not the seller.)

the generic Spanx are called “Assets” (har har), and can be found at your friendly neighborhood target. you might want a size bigger than the size chart suggests for riding, as they’re made to really hold you in, and might restrict your range of movement, but that could just be me!
edited to add: I have the almost knee-length underwear model. I haven’t tried the other yet, so the sizing could be different!

I found some underwear at target that are perfect for wearing under breeches! They’re flesh toned and the elastic is very thin so it doesn’t really show.

Here is a pic of us this weekend in my new Devonaire coat! I opted against the white breeches…just couldn’t do it yet.

Back to the too-large coats - I have always found it better to buy the coat too large and have it tailored. Looks much, much better.

I hope to get mine tailored a bit, but didn’t have time before the show…will look into it later.

Twink, you look AWESOME!!! What a great photo. You rock!

Wow, thank you!!! yes, it is the best photo of us of all time, I think!

Lovely photo.

I will say it here, too, Twnkltoz: you and your horse look absolutely terrific! Thanks for posting that pic!

Twink! You look great!!!

I really should be riding right now, but the state has decided to widen my road, and they are right in front of my house today. The dogs are going to be busy patrolling the fence while the men work in the road, but I feel funny riding with them there. My ring is on the side of the house, and it’s highly visible.

I am glad you started this thread , and am glad to contribute to it! Did you ever expect so many pages??
