I love shapely breeches, the only breech made to fit my wide arse; however, please manufacturers, I would love some COLORS! How many black or light tan color breeches can a person own? I’d want navy, burgandy, hunter green, something other than black or light tan. Perhaps we should send this thread to all breech manufacturers to let them know there is a market for larger, shapely breeches and in colors.
Thanks, PintoPiaffe. I may go back to Wally World and look some more for some leggings or something. I love riding in schooling tights, but I don’t really need them as long as I ride western.
But like you, JS, I don’t want “just” breeches/tights. I want burgandy ones, and pretty blue ones, and houndstooth ones, and striped ones, and two-tone ones with color-contrast full seats . . .
Just wanted to plug the Mountain Horse High Caliber field boots with the wide calves… I got mine and was tickled to death to find that they fit my 17" calves with no trouble. They have zippers along the back and they are comfortable as well as very nicely made.
Has anyone found show shirts for the hunter ring that are not just white in sizes 44-46?

What size foot do you wear/what size calf were they supposed to fit, and how much stretch would you say they have, inchwise?
Custom Boots
I am new on here. I love this thread and read it constantly. I have a huge calf and have been unable to find dress boots to fit. I decided I would have to have custom boots ordered but could not afford to shell out $600 plus dollars. In searching for custom boots, I came across this website:
They make totally custom boots for $349 and the quality looks amazing. They also have an ebay store called “4tallyho” and they frequently sell customs for less than their website at auction. I was wondering if anyone had any experiences with this company. Their ebay feedbacks are stellar and everyone seems super pleased with the boots.
Welcome to COTH and the thread! Thanks for posting!
Wellspotted, I sent you and frnchgurl both a PT re the boots. Edited to say that there are many mentions of those boots on this thread.
Oops. I must’ve missed those posts. :o
Thanks again though, for the PM.
I think if I ever can afford tall boots I’ll have them custom made by one of the bootmakers my richer friends use.
Easy to miss posts on a 26 page thread!
Let’s just say it that when they arrived, after reviving myself, I sent them back.
Now I have those eHimalaya boots.
And remember, if you can’t zip 'em with the ease you’d like, get on your back - see, now you can multi-task - and pull 'em on, already zipped, legs in the air.

THAT’S a picture!!
Have you guys seen these breeches/pants? I just ordered a pair of the boot cut style. I’ll let you know how they are!

They also have riding jeans with generous sizes, though not quite large enough for me ;), and their prices on Irideons are very low. And I just ordered a pair of those from someone else two months ago… Pooey, lol.
Anxious to hear how they work for you! My half chaps that I got from them are still going strong. Not the prettiest, but they work!
Which one of the chaps did you get? I have the Olympians and they look great! Very unique ;). I bought a pair of the tall-boot ones too, but haven’t had a chance to use them yet. I haven’t had the money or time for schooling shows this year. Hopefully I will this fall. I like them, but they are a little large around the ankle in my size (3XL). I’m going to have a boot/shoe repair guy take them in a bit around the ankle. My ankles are little compared to my calf, LOL!!
I’ll report back as soon as the trail pants come in! A skinny friend of mine has a pair and just loves them, but you just can’t trust someone who’s a size 4 when it comes to breech comfort and fit for us “well endowed” women, lol…
Not sure what model mine are…kind of a reddish brown suede with black stretchy stuff. I have the same problem as you–the ankles are too big.
Hmm, I didn’t see anything like that on their site. Maybe it was an old style or something?
Well, if you ever need another pair, try the Olympian style. They have this “swoosh” design in the elastic and are very well fitted on the ankle.
I have two pair of their half chaps. The first ones have bouffant ankles. The second ones, not. So I just took scissors to the first pair and fixed 'em.
