Womanly-sized riders, unite!

I just saw these custom leather chaps on eBay http://cgi.ebay.com/English-Top-Grain-Smooth-Leather-Custom-Chaps-Large-XL_W0QQitemZ260172925982QQihZ016QQcategoryZ3155QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
I’m not associated with the chaps in any way

Anybody tried the new Mountain Horse winter boot (I think it’s the Fusion?) From the size chart, it looks like the calves are generously sized. I’m wondering if they are comfortable and warm.

She hasn’t had the boots listed for a few weeks - does anyone know if she’s just not doing that anymore or…??

I just looked at the link, and she has some now.
She has the Anky, and what looks like the 3000 listed.

I just ordered a pair from my local shop! Should be in in a couple of weeks.

I feel sort of pathetic that I’m so excited about this…

Off to go write an appreciative email to the good folks at Mountain Horse.

Saddle Bums!

Just ordered new britches from Saddle Bums, a recommendation from this thread. They have talls - yay!

They also have AWESOME service. I had a typo in my online orderform, so I called. The fella fixed it right away, and said “we’ll make your breeches on Monday, and will get them right out to you.”

MAKE my breeches?!

Yep! Their apparel is handmade, right here in the USA. And $89 for full seat.

Cool!

Yep, Saddlebums, Equissentials and Tropical Rider are all made in the USA (and have awesome customer service).

Hope you love 'em!

Please report back when you get them, and let me know how they fit! Thanks.

Womanly Sized Jeans

I think I’m going to ride western more this winter. Now all I need is a new pair of jeans!
Do riding jeans come in any more womanly sizes than breeches and schooling tights, or are womanly sized ones hard to find? The western tack store here that carried clothing has gone out of business but all they had were jeans up to about a 32 or 34.
Wrangler told me they quit making their plus sizes because no one was buying them.:eek::mad:
I can buy stretch jeans at Wal-Mart–I have one pair and I love them, but I’d like some made for womanly sized riders.

The Equestrain Collections Website is awesome!!

I was thrilled to see coats that will fit my chest. That is the hardest part for me to fit.

Wal-Mart does carry womanly sized jeans (that stretch!!) - I think they’re made by Lee…Riders, or something like that. Good luck in your search!

Wellspotted, Marianne at SmoothStride in Idaho has riding pants with a boot cut leg (or straight). She has some great material and you can get them in fullseat or knee patches. I have 1 for winter and 2 for summer. They wear really well and I don’t feel embarrassed to ride my horse to the store and acutally get off.

Well, I got a call from my local saying that the distributor told them the boots were “backordered indefinitely.” Grumpily, I checked the Dover site (just received yet another catalog) and saw that they had them listed as in stock. Having been burned by Dover many times before, I called them and yes, they had one pair in that size (for $30 more than my local was going to charge me). So I’m waiting on them now.

And I feel so dirty for ordering from Dover. Ick.

I LOVE Lane Bryant’s new right fit jeans! They have 3 different “fits” that go by your body type. I’m a pear and this is the first time I have found jeans that actually fit my waist without having to have the waist taken in. Here’s the link to their jeans: http://lanebryant.charmingshoppes.com/pagebuilder/find_your_right_fit

LOL…I was just going to mention Lane Bryant. I just bought a couple of pairs a few weeks ago - The Red tagged ones.

I was totally going to mention the lane bryant jeans too. I ride in my pair and they are great because unlike the walmart jeans my lane bryant ones keep their shape, don’t over stretch, and don’t sag in the back. They are stiff enough that I don’t feel like I am wearing spandex jeans, yet they do have some stretch to move with me when I ride!

Ooh, Lane Bryant is smart! I used to wear their Venezia jeans - fit pretty darn nicely - and their little size calculator knew. Nice to know they still have this style!

I have found that the Ralph Lauren jeans are the best of all, for me at least. And they are more durable. You can get them at Macys. I actually got a pair at TJ Maxx on Sunday for $10, which was a blast. Avenue also does plus sized jeans, both in the shops and avenue.com.
