Womanly-sized riders, unite!

VEST ALERT LADIES!

My WallyWorld has the same vests they had least fall/winter. Up to 3XL, for either $10 or $12. They are a nice fit and a nice cut for the saddle. (see last year/this thread for details! )

And did I mention $10 or $12??

I got the jacket that was the same cut/style and wore it all winter. I am hoping to find another and retire this jacket to riding wear. It’s just hip-length, so not a problem for riding. Not really roomy in the shoulders, but not bad.

I could still wear them with tall boots, you know. I mean, really, if they’ll work with half chaps then I can wear 'em with the boots, too. The Irideon tights ride out with the tall boots as well.

Painter pants? I would rather die. Ball caps? I think I have at least 50, all horsey. Big collection.

PintoPiaffe, thanks for that re the vests. I got two of them last year, and they are GREAT. Highly recommend them to anyone who didn’t buy any last year.

Ooh, thanks from me too for the tip on the Wally World vests! Loffly: http://www.walmart.com/search/search-ng.do?search_constraint=0&ic=48_0&search_query=women's+vest

Like we keep sayin’, this thread - while DIVINE - is very, very, very expensive! Why, thanks to Chocomare etc., I have a lovely new wardrobe at home and a big hole in my wallet!

Love it! Love y’all!

Too Long!

I just bought my first couple of pairs of riding tights, and I’m thrilled because in my old riding life (I’ve just recently returned to riding, after over 20 years away) I always had incredible trouble with calf fit. I have very large, muscular calves. Even when I’m in good shape, my calves are BIG. (Besides the riding, I do a lot of running, etc. too – I also have the same problem with ski boots) So anyway, I was very happy to find that riding tights are actually comfortable and not constrictive on my calves – score! However, they’re all so long! The options all only seem to be either for regular or tall tights, no short? What? Short people can’t ride? Does anyone have a place they might recommend that maybe sells shorter lengths?

Cranky:

Call Stan at www.saddlebums.com and give him your measurements. He’ll do custom work for minimal charge and then save your pattern forever so you’ll always be able to buy a new pair that fit.

I first bought a pair of Ultimate Full Seats. Love them!!! Next pair I called and discussed with Stan and he fully recommended the Racing Tights.

I said “Yeah, they look great but they don’t come in full seat.” He said “No problem Susan, I’ll make 'em for ya and add that extra inch to the rise.”

Done! The Ultimate Full Seats still look brand new even after 3 years and the Racing Tights are just as wonderful as the day I got them. No snags, tears, pulls or sagginess. And I’ve been through some pretty rough brush with them.

Worth every penny…priceless when they fit YOUR body

Well… poverty loves company!

At least we look good… poor, but looking good. Cuz after all, Ees not how you feel. Ees how you look. And you look Mah-va-luss.

twnkltoz or anyone else, do you know how the sizing for the Kerritt cargo breeches compares to the sizing for the Irideons (specifically Cadence cords)?[/QUOTE]

i have the Kerrits in 3 different sizes (xl, 1x, 2x) and a pair of Irideon tights in xl (though not the cords). i would say the xl irideons fit like the kerrits xl. i wear a 18 in real clothes and the 1x kerrits fit the best. the 2x i got cuz thery’re full seat and i worried about them being to snug, should have gone with 1x! but still love ALL my Kerrits!!

I am a very womanly size rider. But my FEI CDE Pony carries me in the cart just fine.

Thanks, PaintedUp!

BAD CHOCO, BAD CHOCO, WATCHA GONNA DO

The Ariat tights just arrived. They are SPECTACULAR.

And just a little Public Service Announcement. Big Dee’s has lots of Ariat and other stuff in plus sizes - which I never knew they even had - and much of it is on sale. www.bigdweb.com

IdonotneednewbreechesIdonotneednewbreechesIdonotneednewbreeches…

Of course you do!

Think I’m gonna add to my signature: Queen of Enablers

I had to cut myself off. I have a severe problem with black vests. I have four in my closet, only one of which I really wear, and was contemplating buying several others in search of that elusive perfect black vest. I told my friends that whatever I do, I was not allowed to buy another vest!

I would like a pair of traditional fawn coloured breeches, though.

Seeeeee, I knew you’d loff dem.

So when my husband leaves me over the pile of breeches that I already have and am always adding to, can I come live with you?

I have been wanting a pair in chocolate…

Of course dahling. There’s always room for one more.

Psssst… sell some of your older ones here: http://bitsandbarter.proboards74.com/index.cgi?board=breeches and then buy the new ones! So then both of you will be happy…sort of.

Two black, two brown, one red, one navy and one rust. I only like the rust one, which now finally fits. And that is why I like it, because it is fitted. Mountain Horse does a lovely fitted vest in plus sizes, bless their hearts.

But… they are mine. If I sold them, they wouldn’t be mine anymore.

(I do have a couple of pair that don’t fit very well).

Exactly, a vest needs to be fitted and not boxy! I will look for the Mountain Horse version–I guess it would be permitted as long as it is not black.

I wish Arista made their vests a little bigger. The one I wear the most is an Arista made out of stretchy nylon. It is too tight so I wear it open. I love the fabric and the weight.
