Womanly-sized riders, unite!

The eBay gal with the Ariat stuff is toomanyponies. Her eBay store is The Wire Horse. She sells them for retail, since they are Buy It Now, but I’m so damn happy to have the selection that I don’t care.

I love BRIDLES. I bought my young guy a so-so one when he first arrived and even though it’s only a few months old, I really had to talk myself out of getting him a nicer one to replace it.

what size in the Mtn Horse vest are u girls getting? i’m just never sure! i’m a 38dd and 18 in reg clothes, anybody similar? can u tell me how these fit?

Got my half-chaps – Thanks!

Thanks, I’ve actually been studying that site and I’m still not sure that the chaps there are going to work for me. The ones that seem wide enough look like they’re going to be too tall – grrrrr. I suppose I could just take a chance and order them and see. I can just return them if they don’t work.[/QUOTE]

I just wanted to let you know that I ordered these half-chaps (size L) and it looks like they’ll probably work for me. They’re a little too tall, but not terribly so, so I think they’ll be okay. More importantly, they fit easily around my big calves, so I’m pretty happy. They also came very quickly too, less than 2 days. Thanks to everyone for the tip.

Oh good. Hope they work out for ya!

Rats…in the text the “special price” is for size small only,…I guess the bigger sizes must sell better!

Ach! How rude!! Sorry I didn’t see that the first go 'round. Hmph! :frowning:

Well, it’s just like shopping for regular clothes and shoes - the larger sizes always seem to sell out first! That’s why (IMHO) the clothing stores discount the smaller sizes!

Ok, so I am posting the first page of my Christmas list online…
http://www.fuller-fillies.co.uk/new-autumn-winter-2008/view-all-products.html
I want one (at least!) of everything…in every colour.
I’ve been (pretty) good, Santa!
Dee

Ditto. Particularly the technical riding shirt and the plaid full seat breeches. Not to mention that wool tweed jacket and the Diva show coat while we’re at it (fuschia lining, how cool is that?).

Now if only Stock Market Santa would be good to me :lol:

Ok. You Canadian folks need to spend LOTSA money with FF so they can get to open a U.S. distribution house real quick to save us 'Mericans on the shipping charges.

Cuz homie wants a pair of these! http://www.fuller-fillies.co.uk/new-autumn-winter-2008/sparkle-huggy-half-chaps.html Loff the sparkles…not too gaudy, but just enough zip for me

ChocoMare,
Have you considered ordering from a Canadian distributor? It would be WAY WAY cheaper than overseas shipping…
(this doesn’t appear as a link on their website for some reason…)

If so, Richvale Saddlery here in ON is a reputable real store who is a distributor…they have a loffly tack shop and are VERY helpful!

There is a US distributor in Mass on their website. Don’t know how current this is.

I’ve been talking with my friend who runs a tack store about getting Fuller Fillies. She’s taking definite steps to do it, but would like to see what kind of response there would be. I’ve mentioned her website before:

www.englishhabit.com

She has a plus size section under apparel and is trying to expand her selection. She’d love to hear your suggestions and preferences, so you could either pm me for more info, or go to the website and on the right hand side sign up for the mailing lists (click on the plus size list)

She’s got great customer service and really wants to find the stuff that people need.

p.s. I think I mentioned earlier in the thread that I tried on one of the Fuller Fillies jackets while at Spruce Meadows this year. The fabric is great, and they are very well made, so I’m REALLY hoping my friend will be able to carry them, CUZ I WANT ONE! WAH! (hee hee hee) (Talk about enablers!)

Alright Ladies… I need help.

Winter breeks that won’t break the bank. The problem is, my Boinks–the two layer kind–are my favorite pants on the planet, period, I live in them and I’d wear them to work if I could.

BUT THEY DON’T MAKE THEM ANYMORE…  (there are a couple pair of 4x for $59 for someone out there… go get’em, trust me on this!)

I got a clearance pair of their single layer polarfleece, and they are not flattering. Too thin. Jiggly. :dead: They’re OK-warm, not super warm like the double layer ones. Wind is an issue. They’re better for indoors, I think. (of which I have none.) I’m leery of the fancy new fabric–it’s ‘not as stretchy and doesn’t run as large.’ Um, helloooo??? Plus it’s over $100.

What other options are out there? I’m somewhere in limbo size wise. In size 16 pants & jeans now, but still too hefty in the thighs and hips to fit into most ‘normal’ sized breeks. (i.e. a 36 should fit, but not even close.) But plus sizes aren’t fitting right either–too much crotch usually, if that makes sense?

Helllpp!!! It’s getting cold already. :frowning:

PintoPiaffe,
Do you have a link for Boinks?
I googled boinks, and the first hit…well, not what I was looking for!
Dee

I second English Habit - their customer service was WONDERFUL when I ordered my dressage coat from them last year.

http://www.boinkcatalog.com/

I too had the two-layer Boinks and loved them. Mine are way too big and I keep wearing them, and I"ve waited too long to get another pair and now it’s too lay.

I wear the Irideon Wind Pro breeches now, but they are over $100. Instead of having the stretchy material on the outside like the Boinks, they have a rougher, kind of windproof, material. The inside is fleecy. I think they run small in size, especially the full seat ones.

On Tack of the Day today – two styles of Harry Hall breeches, up to size 38.
