Wonderful Big South Fork camping weekend - Everytrails added

![](t was such a great weekend, rain and all. Great company, riding in the moonlight, rode about 7 miles bareback on the trails (a record for me!), rode in the rain and the sunshine, saw cool stuff. It was amazing.

Count me in as jealous! My SO and I were planning on a trip to Big South Fork this year, but some unexpected and serious health issues have gotten in the way so it doesn’t look like we’ll make it this time.

Looks like some great riding, though!

You always have such a good time on your rides! Great pictures!

We spent a week in BSF in July. Beautiful! Did you like Timber Ridge? We stayed in a cabin on 297 across from True West. My favorite trail was when we hauled out to Station Camp for a day ride, though I would not camp there with the unsafe (IMO) standing stalls. We’re looking for the best trail heads to haul to next time we go… I can’t wait!

It was such a great weekend - even the rain was fine, since it cooled us all offf.

I love Timber Ridge - it’s clean, nice stalls - but it’s a bit of a rowdy, noisy place. Not in a bad way at all, just lots of pool shooting and corn hole playing, so it’s not exactly quiet. The trails are amazing, and the owners are great.

I’ve done standing stalls, but not for an extended stay. Timber Ridge is nice; they have good stalls and corrals where you can turnout for a bit, to at least give your horse time to roll if they want. East Fork is great (but pricey).

Jolly - I hope you get to make the trip soon.
