Wood chewing S.O.B. wish they'd told me..

If you respect your MFH at all, you really will just log off and go stand in a corner.

To answer your question…
I have no need for an excuse (your word, not mine) for the saddle sore.
Shrug.
To me it is not something to make into a huge deal. It is a sore. Treat it, it heals, life is good.

And to discuss the two muzzles you mentioned. You did not try a single spray on application?

Maybe those teeth that your vet insists say he is older are not worn down because this is not a long term chewing problem like you want to insist it is. Had you thought of that option?
Have you really never read a thread about aging by teeth on this or any other forum? It really is more of an art than a science.

And maybe you have not noticed. I will not participate in a bash the seller via PM conversation with you.

of all this attention.

The. Horse. Is. Fine.

He was NEVER going to be a meal for anything or anyone. NEVER>

I WAS PISSED AND FRUSTRATED.

I made an enormous mistake that has been widely misunderstood by my misuse of verbage, retoric, fabrication, imagination any anything else any of you can think of.

My hunt is WONDERFUL

ALL HUNTS ARE WONDERFUL AND FILLED COMPLETELY WITH WONDERFUL HORSES AND PEOPLE WITH INTEGRITY

I am a complete and utter disaster as a hunt member, horse owner and human being. It’s probably a blessing that horses and dogs I’ve owned before are buried on my farm as opposed to remaining with me which clearly would be unbearable for any animal.

To those of you that understand, thank you.
To those of you that don’t, see above til it sinks in.
Posterity again. You have a nasty streak…has anyone ever told you before?

Trub, is she STILL trying to bash the seller, only privately instead of publicly???

Her PMs to me have been trying to justify her stance. How the horse was not as advertised. I take that as trying to bash the seller.

It does not really mesh with ‘I am sorry I was wrong’ if you ask me.

I think this thread is a shining example of the committment 99% of foxhunters have to horses, their sport and good horsemanship. Offers of homes came in, offers of possible solutions, and a absolute lack of tolerance for BS, which is sadly lacking in much of the world, was firmly in place. Would that every Brownie had such people going to bat for him…

Glad that Brownie is in good hands, since my trashy wire fences and metal shed were a bit of a hike from KY, but at least we don’t kill animals that are trying every which way to tell us they are scared, or lonelyor in pain, or needing some love.

oh goody - another COTH pile on!!! Human nature at it’s finest!!!

mbm,
Go back and read the thread from the beginning. Then you might think better about your comment. You haven’t shown any interest in learning about hunting or this horse until you were bored and saw a trainwreck in progress.

You have shown an interest in learning horse care, so please add this thread to your curriculum.

My MFH feels exactly as you do and told me so. That prompted my public apology.
Yes, your contrition is obvious.:rolleyes:

Don’t be surprised when the posters of this forum read as much truth into your hollow apology as it turns out we should have into the rest of the mess you’ve written here. One can’t prove themselves to be full of it and then say “But now I’m not. I really mean it”.

As for you never intending to feed the horse to anything, you sure mentioned it a lot. I’m not even sure I caught them all.
He’s going to be a happy meal for a big cat if I can’t find someplace soon.

My husband says MONDAY.
Glad to hear Brownie is safe.

 Honestly, OP, just stop. It’s in your own best interest.

I just read this post from start to finish… First, I like the description of his daddy was a beaver and his mom was a woodchuck (or something close to that), as I have known a couple of those. Easily managed, no big deal. Then I became horrified with the threat of hound/big cat meal simply for being destructive. I applauded those willing to take him on, even considered it myself, but seeing how my barn sits inside my pasture completely unprotected from ‘beavers’ it wouldn’t have worked, but if push came to shove, I would have made it work. And then I started chanting go Cothers, go Cothers, when those started picking apart the lies and bringing it all to light. I have never hunted, and truth be told, I would be terrified to do it, but I have no problem with it. I don’t think Brownie’s saga here will hurt the hunt community. Instead, it showed me how close-knit they were and how determined they were to save one of their own. Just because there is a bad apple in the barrel doesn’t mean we have to throw the whole barrel out.

Yes! Totally!

I still think the OP is [foolish] for buying a horse over the internet, sight unseen. That is not to suggest that anyone is dishonest or anything, but just that when you don’t even lay eyes on a horse or have it vetted pre-purchase, and you are supposedly a veteran horsewoman, then you should not be surprised if what you get (and there’s nothing here to suggest that the horse was misrepresented) isn’t what you thought you were getting. My personal opinion is that she might not have as much good horse experience as she likes to claim. At best, she has a callous way of speaking and particularly on this thread sounded as if she didn’t care about the horse at all. Very flippant and rude.

[edit]

I love hunt people and think most of them really care about their horses. Wish I was as brave as they are about running fast and jumping!

I’m reminded of this National Lampoon cover from years ago.

OP buys horse, who she feels is not as advertised. Seller won’t return her calls.

OP decides to

screw with his former connections the way they screwed with me to finally get a reaction[.]

Apparently not giving a tinker’s damn that people who possess actual feelings might take her seriously and be worried about the horse.

Now I get why they invented ignore lists.

And the OP is merrily posting on other threads like this never happened. Got to love the ignore button.

I suspect the horse would say the same
yep…

How. Dare. You.

I am not controlled. I’m respected, pampered, spoiled, loved and provided for. Well. And that’s not a crime, though I while I noticed many of you wanted a “free horse” and thought it was “all about the money” no one ponied up and said, hey, leave him there, I’ll send you 10 new fence boards a week for him to chew up" Hey, it’s not about money right?

I was pissed, I vented, I apologized to the people that deserved it. Some of them even, after I explained the circumstances, accepted my apology. Mine, not my MFHs though had he asked, I would have. He didn’t need to.

So flame on people, make it as personal about me and my abrasive, selfish, callous, spoiled, inhumane, unreasonable self as you want to. I’ve been called worse by better, some of it justified.

Leave my husband and my little “corner of hell” out of it.

You have zero idea how hard my husband works to have and keep what we do.

Zero. Nada. To even begin to suggest that is beyond reprehensible.

You have no idea how much time, effort and yes, money he spends helping sick and injured animals and people or how much charitable work he does.

If I getted drummed out of the hunt, I brought it on myself.

I’ll have a horse for sale.

He’s perfect.
Wow, and to think you might have had someone with the apology thing…jeez. I’ve got a tip for you, log OFF. You Are NOT helping.

Wow. Classless. That was quite a performance. Bet she missed out on a really nice hunt horse, too. What did she say, her husband will never let her have another horse? Shame.

Oh, well.

I admit to being bored but i read the thread over two days before posting… I was with y’all at first but once the inevitable pile on stared i just felt it was my duty to interject some rational comments…

How you can extrapolate my knowledge of horse care or desire for further enlightenment is beyond me… As for hunting i didn’t know that i needed to express an interest to post? There must be rules i am unaware of.
Glad to see the mods step in

Sorry for attrocious typing…/ on iphone

OP, ever hear the standard advice for what to do when you find yourself in a
hole?

Just. stop. digging.
