I know they kept reporting that horses both walked away, but any news on horses and riders (other than the initial post race check)?
Last report was horses were at their stables & would be checked over by their own vets, but sounded like they were ok.
Riders were both ok.
I would think tomorrow would be more telling… see if any lameness or injuries pop up on either horses or riders.

Saw the fall. Texted a friend this morning down there. Everyone is fine although undoubtedly Lopez is sore… I can’t fathom falling or getting thrown at that speed on a horse–makes me wince.
Do jockeys wear safety vests? I saw the fall on TV and could not imagine that they didn’t have multiple rib fractures.

Yes.
Oh yes, the jocks are now all wearing safety vests (although more the jacket kind and not the inflatable ones). Don’t know if the vests are required or they are doing just because it’s a smart thing to do. But, they wear them under their silks, but you can see the outlines of them.
Still a bit worried about Grand Tito. No update that I have seen and sounds like he did hit his head when he fell in the paddock but did appear to be okay after he got back up.
Vests are required for anyone to get on a horse on the backside of the track so even exercise riders and pony people will wear them.
