Sure hope this doesn’t come to pass:
We riders who enjoy the Brandywine Valley and Woodlawn Trust trails need to stand up and be counted On Oct. 2, Tuesday, 6pm Concord Township (@ Municipal Bldg., Rte. 1 & Thornton Rd) has a rezoning hearing on 324-acres of land formerly held by Woodlawn Trust. This huge proposed 55 &over development stretches north from the state of DE north over Beaver Valley Road to Smith Bridge Road. It includes the land around the vineyard, Doug Neilson’s house (the farrier), and behind Rosie’s self-care barn. Many hayfields and Smith Bridge Stables would become high density housing. To see a map, go to the Concord Township municipal building or: [URL=“http://www.townshipofconcord.com/sitecontent/index/page/AnnouncementsThe”]http://www.townshipofconcord.com/sitecontent/index/page/AnnouncementsThe first 30-pages of the rezoning proposal are pleasant generalities. The last page is a map showing the extent of land proposed for R-PRD-4 zoning. As a person interested in riding trails and open space preservation, I wonder if you take a position on this development? Please forward this to anyone else who might be interested in attending and/or speaking out. A simple show of hands by those interested in open space preservation helps. Just asking for that is a step in the right direction. We will be sorry if we don’t TRY now. It is early in the process, the best time to have an influence
