I’m on my 3rd saddle in less than a year on my 5 yo… I feel like I’ve gone to he!! and back with saddle fit and put on hundreds of miles on my car trying different saddles. I was getting really close to ordering one but that would have taken 3-4 months of build to the specs I needed for my broad shouldered, low withered boy.
As I was returning two McCall saddles to a local tack shop (since they didn’t fit), I came across a Wood’s Western custom Reiner. I sat in it at the store and instantly went “ooh” (later, my adoring husband said that was the 1st time in my saddle search he saw that I liked the saddle instantly). I remember sitting in it and knowing how good it felt in the store may not be duplicated on my horse. However, after riding him in it 3-4 times, I put an offer on the saddle and I’m happy to say it’s mine.
So, my question is around the brand itself. It’s a really nice saddle but I can’t find any history on the maker and was curious if anyone here could fill me in. The logo is “Custom Saddle by Woods Western”. I found their website and they do seem to be on the high-end ($500 show pad!) but I can’t find anything on their saddles. Any input, experience, thoughts is appreciated. TIA!
