Wool Flocked/Adjustable Gullet Saddle Recommendations?

My 7yo OTTB currently goes in a Fairfax Classic Jump. It’s wool-flocked and has the exchangeable gullet system. It’s been professionally fitted to him three times in the year I’ve had it.

Neither my trainer nor I like the saddle at this point, and my horse seems to go much better in my trainer’s saddle. The Fairfax sits above him instead of around him and shifts a ton. It’s very bulky under my leg and makes it difficult to put my leg on. I also feel chair-seated and as though I’m fighting to stay over my leg.

I’m very hesitant to buy a saddle with a standard tree/gullet. His back has changed tremendously in the last year. I’d love to find something that can stay with us for at least a few years.

Any suggestions for a wool-flocked, adjustable jump saddle? Closer contact and deeper seat preferably.

You could take a look at the new T&T line from Ideal. I believe Hastilow in the US carries them.

They use a different composite tree and new gullet bars that angle back at the points instead of being square.

I have two Hastilow Concept jump saddles. Both are nice and I’ve had them adjusted and reflocked as needed. I’m curious if yours is overflocked? Any pictures?

The first year is when the horse goes through the biggest changes. You will likely so only the usual amount of change going forward. My horse went through about 6 or 8 saddles the first year I had him but has been happy in his custom saddle for the past year with only the usual flocking adjustments.
That said, you might want to look into TreeClix TreeClix System? - Dressage - Chronicle Forums (chronofhorse.com)
It can be installed into a wide range of saddles and could really open up your options.

I like my Cavaletti saddles, it’s the off the rack version of Loxley/Bliss

I just bought a Kent and Masters and I love it!

Hastilow all the way. I have a jump and a dressage saddle. It’s been a godsend as my horse continues to bulk up over his top line even as a teenager as we get more seriously into dressage.

I am currently shopping for my OTTB as my mare is currently objecting to the Hermes I’ve had for ages. Financially, this is not the right time, so I am looking for something budget friendly. Seems finding the wool flocked with adjustable gullets is a little harder than I had hoped for. Loved the look and options of the Santa Cruz saddles but was told there is no way to demo them in the US, and paying for a non-returnable saddle isn’t an option for me.

See what Classic Saddlery has in stock for M. Toulouse. They’re the same models in many cases with a different gullet system.

I found mine on eBay, and there were many options available if you already have an idea on what you need size wise. Also FB Marketplace, I’m quasi-shopping for a dressage saddle and there are many. None local to me of course.

I also have a Kent&Masters and love it. Changed the gullet twice and got it reflocked once. My horse is super comfy in it which is the most important
I had a fairfax jump before but also didn’t fit my horse.

I just bought a Pessoa Gen-X Elita II for my young OTTB mare, and love it. I specifically bought it because of the adjustable gullet and wool-flocking so it can grow with her a bit until she’s ready for a more fixed saddle. It is a beautiful saddle and I am really impressed with the quality of the leather. Was recommended to me by friends and my saddle fitter, it fits my high withered lady beautifully and puts me in a really good position as well. Was riding her in a County before and the difference the Pessoa has made for us both has been huge!
