PeteyPie, you are officially my hero. Can you make this thing a poster? And can you get the Kennedys and a bustier in there? Or at least a burrito in a bustier?[/QUOTE]
Thank you, thank you, thank you. Unfortunately, as you can see by the way little evil burrito turned into a Mammoth Jack due to my limited artistic typing abilities, I think a bustier is beyond me. Besides, TheJenners might arrest me for indecency.

Here is a good recipe for Brioche:

and here is one for caramel croissant pudding:

Goes better with wine compared to popcorn.
I just want to add that I read “open trailer” as being an open-topped trailer of some kind, and I wondered at the PO’s reaction to the prospect of having her aged pony hauled seven hours in the sun, the wind, or the cold in such a vehicle. Well, it’s Florida, so cold wouldn’t be an issue. But there is rain…
Also, I thought PO’s remarks instructing OP not to send a commercial hauler were simply because PO was in no way, no how, going to put her pony on a horse trailer owned by who knows who without having met the future owner. In other words, when OP suggested she would send a hauler to collect the pony, PO said “NO.” We have the OP’s version of the most damning communications by PO and to me, those messages are clearly a noncommittal “Fine, bring your trailer; we will discuss the terms when you get here. My pony’s welfare is my first priority.”
PeteyPie, please draw a stick burrito in a bustier immediately. That way you can be sued by the Jenners and we can blast the current record holding thread out of the universe.
I agree, petey pie. By the way, a friend of mine who passed away recently had a dog named Petey. Every time I look at your username, I think of him. anyway, your assessment is probably pretty much “it”.

You know, you bring up an interesting point. I haven’t seen any threats of lawsuits yet. Did I miss anything?
I admit I am:

No. The “open trailer” is a normal, regular trailer with the door opened awaiting its pony.
ETA: Here’s the original quote: “…ready to load her into the open trailer with them continuing to tell my children she is their pony and going home with us…”

French is def. not your first language! Good try though
Amiblue, seriously… there is more than one very large disconnect between you and the owner (of the “free” pony that you were hoping to take home). Culture being one and experience, the other.
Judging by your posts on COTH , which is all I know of you, you are very much an absolute (albeit enthusiastic) beginner in the feeding, veterinary care, management, and training of horses.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with being a “beginner”.
HOWEVER “rescuing” an underweight TB, having no idea how it should be fed, doing no research or vet consult in advance, but seeming to expect the facility where you board the horse to in fact do the “rescuing”?
That is alarming.
When an underweight “rescue” horse’s first vet visit must be “saved up for” it shows that you have a tendency to put the cart before the horse, so to speak…
I don’t understand why people undertake “rescues” without learning something about what they are doing IN ADVANCE.
I’m sure you are a good person, but I understand why the owner of the pony thought again and decided against.
You were not a good fit in this instance and complaining here does not make things better.

I don’t understand why people undertake animal ownership in general without learning something about what they are doing (and saving up some money) in advance. Even dogs and cats have basic needs that need to be met, and the possibility of emergency vet visits and the like.
I’m not saying someone has to be a millionaire before owning a dog, mind you, but you probably shouldn’t be getting an animal at all quite yet if a reasonably routine vet visit needs to be saved up for. Save up for a couple of vet visits in advance, at least, so you’re not chronically playing catch up with funds.

You may be right. The problem is that if it is just describing the temporary state of the trailer, the adjective is superfluous. I mean, you wouldn’t load a pony into a closed trailer; it is obvious the door would be open. So it jumped out at me when I read it, as it did to other readers, that perhaps she was describing a type of trailer.
I mean, it would have been worded the same way with another adjective. She could have written,
“…ready to load her into the aluminum trailer with them continuing to tell my children she is their pony and going home with us…”
OR,
“…ready to load her into the stock trailer with them continuing to tell my children she is their pony and going home with us…”
OR,
“…ready to load her into the slant-load trailer with them continuing to tell my children she is their pony and going home with us…”
Again, you could be right, but I read it differently. I also think it is telling that the OP never refuted this or clarified it, even though it has been discussed several times. With all of her other protestations, I would have expected to hear her say, “Of course it was a normal enclosed horse trailer, and it was in very good condition,” or something to that effect. She never addressed that or the price of the tack.
