Working Ammy VIP table at Thunderbird BC Open - interested? In the name of networking

Hey you adult amateurs!

Do you work your tush off at your day-job so you can spend your free time playing with ponies (or doing literally anything non-job related)? Does your job constantly hound you to “go out and network”? Does the idea of spending your free time at a stuffy networking event make you gag? Yeah, me too.

What if instead of a bar or conference, you were watching a Grand Prix from the comfort of the VIP tent at a horse show you already happened to be attending? What if instead of talking about work, you were hanging out with other working professionals that ALSO want to talk about horses 24/7? What if no one judged you for drinking as much wine as your show day necessitated? Sound better? I thought so.

I will be temporarily abandoning my post as a patent litigation attorney in Seattle to fulfill my yearly obligation as horse show slave/assistant/therapist/life coach to my favorite amateur FEI rider at the Tbird BC Open (May 30-June 4). In the interest of further multitasking, I’d like to put together a group of amateurs to sponsor a VIP table for the week.

My idea is to coordinate a group of horsey-minded non-horse professionals who want to meet and connect with other working amateurs, while enjoying some fantastic equestrian entertainment. Like last year, the BC Open has Grand Prix’s on Thursday, Friday, and Sunday with the Nations Cup on Saturday. This gives us extra opportunities to mingle and provides a little more bang for the VIP table buck. Plus, if you’ve ever tried to watch a Grand Prix at Tbird from the crowded concrete walkway or the inside the Timberframe, you know you’ve looked longingly at the people at the VIP tables wishing that could be you. If there is enough interest, we could turn this into a regular thing at Thunderbird or other horsey events in the area.

VIP tables are $2000 and include a reserved VIP table and 8 Timberframe passes for the entire week of the BC Open. A Timberframe pass gets you access to the Timberframe (which is either warm/dry or air conditioned depending on May) and free breakfast, lunch, snacks, and beverages everyday. If we could get a full table of 8 people, it would come out to $250 per person, which is $25 dollars cheaper than the regular individual Timberframe pass.

If you are interested, let me know!

Cool idea!

But i will be either at the show grooming or at home keeping home going smoothly.

Well, shoot, if I wasn’t a couple of thousand miles away, I would totally hang out, um I mean network with you! I love this idea!!!

Love this idea! I will speak to my SO about it
I would only be able to attend the Thursday and/or Friday, so if anyone might be interested in splitting the cost…? (If that’s an option?)

I’ll be at the show but hoping our barn will already have a table…we should look each other up though, I’d love to meet some Cothers!! I’m in hunterland, probably 3ft adult ammies and hopefully 3ft3s!! (horses name Sullivan)

Ooops…sigh…wrong show…we’re are there at the END of June beginning of July :frowning:
