Working Cats available

I don’t know if this is the right place to post this thread, but moderators please delete/move if incorrect.

I am trying desperately to help a friend relocate some working cats from a property in Virginia. She had to leave her property and move her small family to follow her husbands job, and now has to re-home a working set of cats.

These cats are proven rodent and snake control, and all are friendly but not all are pet-able. None are house pets, all work for a living.

She has said she will break the colony up to multiple homes, and will provide instructions and some financial and physical assistance for the relocation effort. She is willing to travel several hours to find a suitable home.

She is a very sweet woman and is up in a jam. Can anyone help?

There is a “Giveaways” forum on here – might try posting this there. I’m across the US (and with two Jack Russells, this is a Cat-Free Zone!) so can’t help, but hope they find a good placement.

Bump for the kitties.

My used to be feral now lap cat is a fierce mouse and rodent predator, gets a few birds but does not even look at the chicks and chickens. Earns her keep day in day out!

Good luck to the kitties.

Thanks for all those that have been looking. I am going to post some pictures today. I think I have a home for some of them on a farm in Maryland, but some will still be needing homes.

Bump for the kitties - thank you and your friend for helping them!

I can’t seem to imbed images, I must be too novice of a user.

Feel free to look at the pretty pictures in this slideshow:

Good luck, I hope you can place them
I have a 22 yr old I rescued as a kitten, and a soon to be 19 yr old I rescued as a kitten. (one came from friends of animals in atlanta and the other came from my vet’s office. Some vet hospitals help find homes for cats and dogs.) And just took in 2 adult cats, one of whom just cost me almost $500 at the vet’s. So I cannot take in any more cats right now.
Too bad the owner cannot take the cats with her. Spaying and altering should be mandatory and free everywhere, except for a few breeders, so that there would be homes for them all.

Have you tried a no kill cat rescue organization? I know there is one here locally which does a good job of fostering and with providing low cost spaying/altering with participating vets. Check your local rescues and see if there is someone who will take the kitties.

The cats have all been spayed/neutered and most are ear-tipped. They range in behavior from slightly ferile to completely ferile.

They are good working cats.

Here is another contact for you in Maryland. She advertises in “The Equiery”.

This is the ad:

“Rescued cats need good homes All fully vetted & will deliver! barncats1@aol.com 240-529-8571 No adoption fee”. She may have more contacts for you if she cannot place these cats.

Thanks for the resource. I will notify her of the folks at the Equirey; I know she said she called hundreds of farms and rescues on the east coast. I figured I might try to reach out to the fine folks on this forum to see if anybody might have a lead.
