Working Through Past Trauma

Agree with this.
a few bad distances would be a super ride for me haha (rather than EVERY approach a bad distance)
I mean honestly we all have bad rides, sometimes I sit on my big WB and whine to myself in my head that my horse isnt turning properly, and then realise Im just sitting there - like no leg on, no contact - nothin

Good on your for recognising you need help. Hypnotherapy might be worth looking at too

A lot of people in the dressage forum have recommended Jane Savoie’s equestrian sports psychology books “That Winning Feeling” and “It’s Not Just About the Ribbons”. I haven’t read them, but her other training books and videos are great.

I realize this is a huge tangent. But if you are one of these trainers, make sure you are exploring all your options on healthcare.gov when open enrollment comes around. Obamacare created a sliding scale of subsidies that can really bring down the cost of health insurance if your income is below a certain threshold.

Not when you’re self-employed.

There is a sports Psychologist in my area who was a competitive rider at a young age and has helped riders I know make huge improvements in their confidence. She offers some online courses that are really inexpensive and a great place to start. She also offers phone and Skype sessions for those not in the area.
