It is free?
I think any place that you can get exposure is OK. It is free and possibly would be picked up in a Google search.
Never thought to try it for a horse of value. Sounds like the seller needs to liquidate quickly. Blame it on the lousy economy.
Nassau is a pretty nice stallion that just never seemed to get used much. I was at his testing finals and I think he was reserve champion. Good looking Dutch registered Roemer son carrying the sabino gene (for you “krazy colour” breeders).
Used to be owned by Stargate Sporthorses. His old webpage is still up at http://www.stargatesporthorses.com/_stallions/stallion_list/stallion003.asp
Someone breeding for hunters ought to take a look at him. He has the right look and style over fences.
And he is located very near to me. I’m happy to go take a look at him and make sure he is sound and looking good if someone is interested.
I don’t have stallions, but have put horses up on CL. Look how many people on COTH cruise it and pull out the odd or sad ads. It’s free and you never know who’s looking. As long as the ad is done in a professinoal manner, no different from your website, Dreamhorse etc. exposure can only help sell
He might be sterile?
don’t think so – there are two 2011 babies listed in the ad
Doesn’t look like it – he has a 2010 foal.
Nice horse.
He might be worth taking a chance on for someone trying to break into the biz. If I had a place for him I would definitely consider meeting him. At least the add is professional. I hear it’s been hard on horses in Texas for awhile now
I’d be happy to act as go-between for anyone interested in him. I could arrange vet checks for fertility evaluation, etc. Could go video him for you.
I’d like to see him land easy.
He’s a beautiful stallion, I hope he finds a good home.
Sonesta…isn’t breeding bus funny! Nicely bred stallion…color…all those things! Jumper lines too…you would think he would be a go! Can’t tell re foals that much…
Just make sure he doesn’t to …err…you know. That person in CA:lol::lol:;):
Maybe they’re just testing out the free exposure to see if it will reach anyone? No harm in that.
I was at the Stargate auction when he was sold. He sold for around $10,000. Everyone loved him at Stargate. I think he had some soundness issues though.
how can a horse be “light liver chestnut”
Funny – I tried to post a stallion breeding for sale and they pulled it because of their “anti-breeding” policy. Like I was running a foal-mill or something…
I have a mare in foal to a Roemer son for 2013. When I was googling Roemer I found Nassau. So. very. tempting. Roemer offspring are very special.
Maybe they’ve been reading all the “I saw it on CL” posts on the forums recently and figure it would be a free way of getting advertising space on COTH.
Joking, of course, though it is a nice for them that it worked out that way.
…he is a nice one that’s for sure…I hope he finds a good home soon…
CL is free, so why not use it…
SH:)
Hell, no. I would want to attract proper buyers. It’s hard enough to deal with the inappropriate ones who find you through “normal” channels. That’s a big stallion at 17’1", though, that’s seventeen FEET tall.
Totally off topic, but Meggs, you and I have the same surname, same spelling and all!
I know Nassau. Have handled him. Had really hoped that he had found his forever home.
He was never shown in the h/j world and did a couple of dressage shows a few years ago at 3rd level. A great waste of a talented and well bred stallion.
For some reason, the arab dressage breeders in North Texas really liked him and about half of his kids are half-arabs.
Like Sonesta, I hope he finds the great home he deserves.
