Would you use Mare Magic on a gelding?

My horse is currently being stalled as he recovers from an injury. He is used to being on pasture 24/7. And he’s probably going to be confined for a couple months.

Even after only 4 days, I can tell he’s getting a bit “stall crazy”.

I already have a Jolly Ball for him, and I should be getting an apple thing (I can hang from the ceiling) in the mail today. I’m trying to find other “toys” that might help keep him occupied.

Someone suggested giving him Mare Magic to help keep him a little calmer, since he’s not used to being cooped up. Has anyone tried this?

Or any other suggestions?

He is not getting any grain. Only hay. And…he is a picky eater!

well i mean my mare it is on it and now i have a whole different horse. It is just dried raspberry leaves with no hormones and the package says it is safe for geldings.

they also have something called a “neigh station” i havn’t used one but its got a mirror and toy on it.

I use it year around with 2 geldings that run in a mixed herd. It keeps them from trying to take over and create chaos with the head honcho mare. I took them off for a few weeks one winter and the whole herd dynamic changed for the worse. When they got back on things went back to pretty much normal. I have also used on injured horses confined to stall, seemed to help.

I used it on my gelding for a while. It did help but he had other issues so it wasn’t the “fix”.

Mare magic is just raspberry leaves which (just like for ladies) “tones the uterus”…so probably not.

The bag does say you can use it on geldings. I’ve used it on a gelding in the past. Not sure it really did much.
