WOW - Check out this OTTB mare on FLF!

I call kid, just based on this post and the one over in the Breeding section.

Good luck Eqismylife. Glad you love the mare and that she found a good home. Ultimately, that’s the most important thing.

In her only other COTH post she’s asking for recommendations for stallions, to start her own breeding program, I guess with this mare?

This post DOES come up with a search for the name “Fashionette”, but still overall weird vibe.

Yes, I went back to find Her add and found this. I apoligize for being a bit snippy, but I just get irriatated when people speak poorly about a horse based on a video. If any one does want to see her let down, you can go to my instagram page: http://instagram.com/abigailharty/. Again I apologize and am sorry for my attituide. Thank you so much, have a nice day.

Silk purses and sows ears come to mind.

She looks wonderful on instagram. Congrats on buying her.

Congrats on your mare.

Would love to see better videos, maybe where she’s a bit more long and low, to show off her movement. It’s hard to tell from the clips on instagram how she’s doing, but she has such flashy coloring, I’m sure she’d be fun to watch - if you’re willing to share more!

I often wonder what happens to these horses. I would love to see pictures or videos of her now.[/QUOTE]

I am located in the Geneseo, the Western NY area and have been to the track too many times to county to horse shop for me and friends. A lot of them end up with local riders and trainers. The Genesee Valley Hunt is one of the oldest fox hunts plus we have the Stuart Horse Trials so a lot of them end up fox hunting, doing pony club and 4H, and eventing or showing on the local schooling and rated circuits.

I got one in the fall as a resale project (I had Finger Lakes Finest in 2012 I sold a year later to an awesome junior who got her second horse from FLF as well), as did my friend who got two (sold the first one in a few months, second one is more of a heart horse), my trainer, and two other friends. A lot of ours get used for the SUNY Geneseo Equestrian Team (my trainer coaches it) and a lot of my friends who got horses through there this year were alumni of the team.

It is a great source for horses for our area. It is amazing what the people who work with the organization have done. They act as a bridge between the local (and large!) hunter/jumper population and the racehorse trainers. They are inexpensive but accessible, there are vets available right at the location, and you can visit so many at once. It has been amazing to see how far-reaching it has become, with horses shipping to all over the country 2014!

Sorry for the long post, but I loved your interest in what happens to there horses and felt compelled to respond! If anyone is interested in pictures of the various ones we have, I can try to post some.
