Wrapping Legs

This is slightly off topic for this forum, but I thought the Hunters might have the best advice for me.

My horse is going on an 8 mile hunter pace next weekend. He will not be jumping any of the jumps, but there will be plenty of galloping and cantering on the trail. He does not usually interfere with himself, but I also do not usually take him for gallops. He can be a little bit clumsy, and so I want to make sure his legs are as protected as they can be.

He does not have hind shoes.

I have open front hard-shell galloping boots, neoprene brushing boots that are a little small for him height-wise, and polo wraps.

Which would you choose for gallops out in the country?

I like brushing boots or splint boots for xctry work ( with bell boots in front for good measure…)

I generally leave the hard/open front galloping boots for show jumping . Polos are generally not a good idea in case you end up doing water crossing. Once wet they may fall or loosen and be quite heavy…
