I am looking for a good quality tweed coat for cubbing next year. [Any suggestions of where to look?]
Ebay is your friend.
Looked, but found nothing in my size.
Changing Reins in Ashland, Va
Middleburg Tack Exchange in Middleburg, Va
Both have web sites. I would call to see if they could help.
Middleburg Tack is the BEST! I put together a whole kit from there!
If you are on a budget, ebay and Middleburg Tack are your friends. If you believe in buying the best quality knowing it will last for years, I suggest you try www.horsecountrycarrot.com Yes they’re pricey as everyone here will jump in to say. But. They have a range of prices, and experienced sales staff who will recommend the best cut of coat to make you look fabulous for years to come.
Buying a used coat is fine; some folks like to say it’s like taking an old friend hunting with them. On the other hand, a fine tweed can be used for so much more than hunting, don’t you deserve a really nice tweed?
I actually got a regular tweed at the Salvation Army for like 3.50 or something and got it altered.
You can’t tell the difference!
