Sounds like very wise thinking – the horse that’s right, right now.
For some people a horse to develop for the future does work for them. But this is such an individual decision.

I liked horse 1 until you started describing horse 2. These do not come along often, if ever. He’s the right choice IMO (and people will be begging you to sell/lease him all the time…)

Keep us posted! Both horses sound great, but I agree that the opportunity to have something like #2 is rare. Fingers crossed for vet check and we want pictures if everything goes well!

Vetting went extremely well, so we popped him in the trailer and he came home last night! He trailered like a dream and settled in like the pro he is. Now I’m so excited to ride him today I barely slept last night!

I’m not sure if this works or not. Here is a video from when I tried him. The last oxer is 1.0m and I never jump that high so it was pretty thrilling. And you can see I get a little handsy and add in strides and he’s just like “ok, weird choice, but whatever you think is best”

The video is great – I think I need that horse, too! I have a feeling he will give you a lot of new confidence. In addition to being good at what he does, he looks a chill, kind soul who would be a pleasure to ride.

I’m not sure if this is appropriate or not because this is not my video. So scold me if necessary and I’ll take it down. But this is the video of found if him as a 7yo with what looks like an ammy rider. Watch the 4th jump or so and he chips in so hard (not criticizing the rider in any way, she is a much better rider than me) and he just finish a the line perfect with no hard feelings. It literally made the decision for me
