WWYD....

I don’t have a horse to hunt next season.

Yes, it is ABSOLUTELY ridiculous that this concerns me in April. Plenty of time to find a new one…

Just had to share - I suppose the hilarity of it… the fact that I’m so intrinsically addicted, the not knowing what I’ll hunt come September is driving me nuts! I wouldn’t say it’s keeping me up at night, but it’s close.

Yup - go ahead - Laugh at me! I would… Oh wait… I am already laughing at myself. Boo hoo hoo.

I am one step ahead of you. I did not have a back up hunt horse until two weeks ago. I was concerned having just one pony…

Now, go horse hunting!!!

SLW is an enabler…

That said, now is a good tine to shop as you’ll have the summer to get to know the new steed, walk hounds, etc. BUT you won’t get to try a horse you are looking at in the hunt field, and you never really know how they will hunt until you hunt them.

You aren’t hunting Mr. Big? Did you sell him already?

I know you have had a few hours to find another suitable beastie… Nature abhors a vacuum in your barn. I am sure we will all be thrilled with following your continuing adventures in lovely hunters…

Please look in Va. We would love to have an excuse to see you.

I like to have one made and one in work. I had two made and some young ones so I sold one of the made ones. A month later the other made one tore a distal ligament. So then I had three green ones. It’s been a little dicey as I occaisionally get asked to whip or lead the field. Well after this season I have another one I can call made and the one that was injured should be ok by next season. So I should be back to two made horses and then I will have two in work. One of the ones in work is on the verge of being a drop out, I’m hoping the other one will work out, so far she looks good.

It was so bad when the one got hurt as he was so perfect. He could go in front, back or by himself. I could pony off him or pony him. He also is my outriding horse for Rolex where he is the star of the show. It really cramps your style when one like that has to go on the disabled list for a year.
