X D2K Prestige Dressage Saddle

Does anyone ride in this saddle? Would love some feedback.

Right now I am riding in an old county perfection which my horse really likes but now that I am sitting a lot I am not loving it.

My wonderful saddle fitter who knows my horse well says even though he doesn’t look it he is short coupled front to back <i think 18th rib?> I loved the Custom Saddlery Icon Flight. The prince and the pea Hated it…his head went up in the air and stayed there. Saddle fitter said it is too long and hits badly in the back. He liked the Schleese and I hated it as it was hard as a rock<used ones> and not deep enough.

Anyway, she is waiting for Prestige to send her a demo X D2k which is one of 2 new ones she likes, not the others.

Any feedback would be appreciated. TIA

ME!!! Merry xmas to myself and my pony! I have a D1, and my biggest complaint about it was that it definitely felt shallow.

They really are pretty short lengthwise. They are also pretty flat too - not sure they would work well with a curvy back. I’ve coupled mine with a TSF girth - the new StretchTec one that doesn’t gape. Obviously with this set up you have to be very careful not to over-tighten because both the girth and the front billet is stretchy. However, my guy (Half Arab) moves like a dream- saddle is short enough, flat enough, and stays off his shoulder.

The seat, IMO is improved- feels much more secure and “dressagey” if you will. The seat IS deeper than the D1. Side note: I also have a Custom - just an off-the-shelf wolfgang solo (for my other horse) - the Prestige twist is much narrower and feels just as secure (even more so with the grippier leather). I’ve not ridden in it more than a few times, unfortunately, due to weather/work/holidays/insert excuse here. But from the limited riding I have been able to get in, I do very much like it.

I bought mine from David Dyer Saddlery in England - they were on sale and having a holiday sale on top of it - even with shipping to the US it saved me hundreds of dollars. Of course I already had an idea of how it would work because I have a D1, so I was willing to take the chance.

Thank You!

Yes my saddle fitter only likes the 2 newest saddles because they are deeper. My guy is hard to fit so could not just order it like you did. He has big shoulders and prefers that area really loose.

Thanks again for the feedback. We have been waiting forever for them to send her a demo that is wide enough for my horse and big enough for my butt . She only had a too small one…17 "

Definitely- I think you and your fitter will be pleasantly surprised, the seat really has been improved. A definite thumbs up from my horse and I at this point!
