X Post: Lesson barn in Portland OR?

Posted on dressage forum as well.

I’m going to be spending quite a lot of time in the Portland area for work over the next few months. I am looking for a facility where I might ride a lesson horse and take a few lessons while I’m out there.

Any recommendations?

I would prefer dressage. I’m not a tremendously accomplished rider, so beginner rider type lessons are fine just to keep me in saddle time.

I will be staying near the airport or West Slope for my stay.

I’m not taking lessons myself currently, but my barn owner goes to Highland Stables - I realize this is not exactly next door to where u are staying - but it isn’t terrible to get to from the Airport area - just head South on 205.

Take a look at Flying Changes - there are many barns listed that give dressage lessons. http://www.flyingchanges.com/

I’m looking for lessons myself as my horse is ancient. It would do me a world of good.

I spent the last 4 of 6 weeks in Portland, including weekends and it looks like that trend will continue through March. I am trying to fit in my lessons here in MI as I can–1-2 per week when I’m home–but I need to keep myself in work while I’m…working!
