XC boot recommendations?

Looking for recommendations for XC boots since it’s time to update my pair!

It seems like Majyk Equipes are super in at the moment, but I’ve seen some pretty bad reviews in regards to their quality, which makes me a little hesitant. I also currently have a pair of their sport boots, and I don’t feel that they ventilate particularly well compared to other boots.

I’ve also seen a lot of people using in the Premier Air ones at shows and stuff, and they seem nice, though I’ve seen reviews that the sizing can be funky and the velcro wears down over time.

Anyone have strong opinions on either brand or recommendations for something different?

just bought a set of Lemieux shoc boots - have only used them a few times, but so far so good. Seem to fit well and his legs stay cool, haven’t had any incidents to test out the impact protection (knock on wood)

I have used Majyk boots for a few years, and have had great luck with them. Fit is good, seem to keep the legs cooler than some other boots I have tried, and I personally have had no durability problems at all. I know a few other people who use them as well, with equally positive feedback. I have one horse with smaller legs, and this was one of the only boots that fit correctly and was still as protective as I wanted.

I have the Premier Air cooled xc boots. They are very strangely sized. I have a 16.1 1/2 H TB. He is on the petite size. I use the M front and S hind. The M hind are too long. My trainer is buying the hinds from me for her 16.3 H WB. He normally wears XL dressage hind boots yet the Medium fit him. He doesn’t have a super amount of bone but he isn’t petite. The length is perfect for him.

I used the S hinds for my Arab cross that rubbed easily. These did not rub. Dalmars rubbed.

I had the Majyk Equipe boots but the lining tore after only about 10 runs and the velcro tore away from the boot. They were also really hard to get tight enough so they slipped down. Switched to the Premier and love them. I use a small front and behind for a 15.2hh horse. They hug the leg nice and don’t budge. They also clean up really nicely because you can use leather cleaner on them.

I just bought Majyk Equipe for a fine-boned mare and they rubbed her front legs on the sides of her ankles. Really disappointed.

Now that they are rubbed I’m struggling to find anything else that doesn’t rub. Bare legs or polo wraps for non-wet riding, for now.

I have a pair as well and like them. I also like the Veridus one too. The LeMieux are a bit more affordable.

The LeMieux Shoc boots don’t come in small…! Darn.

They run a bit small. I use the larges (front and back) on most of my TBs. The mediums would work for a smaller TB.

Thanks bornfree… I’m riding a 15.1hh mare who takes a small. (I have 2 other types of LeMieux boots in medium already, they fit her hinds but not fronts.)

Ok. Yes, the fronts were slightly shorter than the LeMieux mesh brushing boots…but not in circumference.

The Shock Air are pretty new so I bet they will come out with the small soon. You can ask. I do really like them. The others I like are the Veredus E-Vento boots. But the LeMieux are more affordable.
