HERE WE GO…
waiting for Boyd…
Is the live feed up in the USA? I can not find it.
Nm, just went live.
3.60 time penalties for Boyd!!! He made it look EASY!!!
Already refusals for the Frenchman. Don’t know how the Aussie did (second out)
Boyd’s horse was SO balanced - it was WONDERFUL to watch!!!
Boyd and Otis really did make that course look simple. Let’s hope the rest of the U.S. team follows suit!
The French horse looks like an…interesting…ride.
Wow! Trappy course.
Boyd rode that course like he built it! That was a brilliant piece of riding and a show of determination!
2nd rider is under the time!
Until the second to last fence, it looked like Boyd was really rolling, time wise - he certainly made the jumps look like a cake walk - time really will be tight.
As I wrote that, 1st rider in inside the time…Australian, not German like I’d thought.
Boyd made it look easy, but he also looked like they were flying, and still finished over time! Hopefully the rest of our team has trips that are just as nice, and the other teams have nice rounds that are significantly slower
Who’s the gentleman doing commentary on the NBC livestream? He’s doing a lovely job thus far.
Is there a schedule of who rides at what time that I can see?
That undulating ground is going to take its toll on a horse’s legs. I saw one horse hit the top of an undulation and his legs jarred into it because he had not expected to hit the ground quite so soon.
Perhaps that is why Boy’s horse seemed so tired 2 from home. Not a lack of fitness, but just leg weary from the topography.
This is going far better than I had expected. I wonder if it rides better than it looked, or if these first few (apart from the French pair) are just that good and it will pose problems for others.
Is anyone else watching with streaming vpn and getting a corrupt screen? I get a few glimpses then the screen goes to horizontal colored stripes.
The “live feed” from NBC is actually a bit time delayed. I could see the 5.2 time penalties on Christopher Burton well before he crossed the finish line on the live feed.
Aussie was clean. Frenchman had lots of faults. The course is riding beautifully (as it should for the Olympics when Eventing is in the spotlight!)
Wonderful, enthusiastic crowds!!
Boyd did great! Chris Burton of Aus made time. I think many riders will make time. It is going to be close and come down to leaving the rails up tomorrow.
Too bad for Ireland. Glad he’s OK…
